I did not say "we cannot get involved" GEEZ....
*blank stare*
again, you say one thing, mean another.
I don't have the time or patience to play this.
What I was trying to say that our approach would be less zealous and more gospel. We live in a world in which there is a great spiritual battle raging (Ephesians 6:10-18). Christ have not given us a political agenda, but a spiritual mandate to proclaim the Gospel and disciple the nations (Matthew 28:19-20). Our battle is not political but spiritual. While at the same time, we are to fight spiritual battle as we voice our political views without being zealous. Moral decline is a spiritual problem due to depravity of sin, not a political one, and its solution is the gospel, not partisan politics.
And we're saying BOTH are ways we battle. Not just one.
As I see it, God wouldn't have any reason to use other nations
or Israel for the means of His will if it was mostly all spiritual effort.
This is an issue of both and some of us find it equally important
to hit both sides of it; spiritual and physical warfare.
The world who are without Christ also have their own views. More often than not, the secular world view is in conflict with the bible. To Christians, this should NOT be a surprise. To the world who are without Christ, this conflict is not a surprise either.
And since they usually oppose those of God, we're here as salt
and light to to hinder those things and bring His truth into the world -
be it thru voting (if not a lesser evil) or whatever political activity.
We cannot change the world politically.
You still haven't heard me then Jim,
never did I say we're lookng to bring theocracy down to the planet
nor did I say I'm seeking to change the political landscape,
I'm seeking to HINDER the enemy's plans as long as it is possible
to hinder them.
That is part of our duty here also.
Christ didn't come down to change the world politically.
His mission isn 't YOUR mission is it?
He came to die on a cross to save souls... & seek what was lost.
I'm here for other purposes - probly many purposes. Each person
is gifted differently and geared for different ministries they serve
in best. hands, feet, eyes, arms, etc. each have purposes.
We can try to change other people political views when share our thoughts on our views with them but at the same time, we are to be witnesses of God to them.
Can we?
Honestly Jim, I don't need a lecture on when we can say what to
whom just becuz it's when you deem it appropriate..
this is a forum and we all talk on MANY subjects in many threads -
Believe it or not, in real life, it's political subjects that have been a "doorway' for me to bring up God and Christianity at all.
So... you may want to give people breathing room in how they
communicate with others -
this just sounds to me like you have your beliefs on politics all
lined up and you make legalistic demands on how we can
represent them or not - and how much we can focus on them,
and ,...... .... ... ...
Since as you say the Holy SPirit works in Christians, let HIM lead
people's conversations - your way won't be my way or other's
way.
I keep seeing legalism sprinkled thru these statements.
