Good questionIf you think that my logic is reasonable, then why do you think that I was saying that Jesus lied?
Saying that stressing P1 means that no one can make that claim is saying that Galatians 4:4 contradicts Matthew 12:8. Moreover, you agreed that it is both true that Jesus was born under the law and that he told the truth about being Lord of the Sabbath, so you should also agree that stressing P1 does not mean that no one born under the law can make that claim.Good question
P1: Jesus was born under the law.
Jesus claimed to be the Lord of the Sabbath (law).
Because of your stress on P1, then no one born under the law can make that claim.
For my FOL thinking, I would not stress P1 in my argument. P1 weakened the strength of your argument a great deal because Jesus was the only exception to that rule. This is a matter of weighting and stress. You don't want to rely on exceptions to prove your arguments.
Good question![]()
Can you prove that (boldface) by first-order logic?Saying that stressing P1 means that no one can make that claim
