I'm awaiting Gods fulfillment of a promise he made me about 3 years ago. Poor health has hindered and I'm now worried I might have misheard God. Please pray I get clarity and confirmation - either way - if I got it wrong I want to know, or do I need to hold on to what I believe God said?!! I don't know - I have total faith in God, I just doubt myself and whether I heard God in the first place, or imagined I have.

Dear Sugs

GOD speaks in love - (Because that is HIS nature, GOD is LOVE)
LOVE is a person. 1 John 4:8

Ok, so what is love? Or, what is HIS LOVE?

HIS LOVE (and HIS Will) because LOVE is desire. So, what HE wants
is always what is best for me and you.

Note: I am not talking about our sinful nature, which is at war with the SPIRIT of GOD that is also within us.
The sinful nature is simply the devil (his nature) we are all born with (actually received it at conception) and its all the fleshy- selfish desires we have that have NOTHING to do with GOD and LOVE.

HIS voice is never pushy its leading.
HIS voice is never a burden its comforting.
HIS voice is never fearful its faithful.
HIS voice is never about self its about others.
HIS voice is never confusing its peaceful.

See James 3:17

The LORD has to be true to HIS nature just like HE said the devil acts and talks
according to his (satanic) nature. John 8:44

We tell our kids, generally if the voice or thoughts you hear are loud (yelling)
then its not GOD.
If your thought, was gentle, (it can be thought provoking from the LORD) but always tempered with peace and patience and always for your own good! (which are just HIM SELF manifesting in you anyway).

Lastly, its imposible to 'miss it' from the GOD of all patience.
If our children 'miss it' we don't tell them too late - you are out of the family.
No, if they fail or miss it, we give them another chance.
I tell you for sure, we are not more loving than GOD!

For you to 'miss it' (whatever it is) would mean GOD has given up on you and you are no value to HIM anymore. That sounds just like the devil and not the GOD of all wisdom and kindness that we serve.

LOVE doesn't use.
GOD doesn't use us.
I don't use my wife.
I don't use my children.

No, GOD loves us so much, HE wants to come inside us (dwell in and around us) to partner together and change lives and open blind eyes that live in a world stumbling in pitch darkness.

When Jonah intentionally 'missed it'. GOD still had compasion on him and the ninevites.
When Peter missed it, JESUS loved him through.

If we miss it (HE doesn't miss it) and LOVE which bears all things, will guide you through. You are not to late my friend, you are just on time.

-Eric

You should believe the word of God even the years passed.
One incident in Bible, God said to Abraham that he will be blessed by a child. Though many years have passed but Abraham believes the word of God. And the promise is full filled.
Always pray to God that you have promised me to give this blessing, I believe those words Lord. That promise should happen.

Thankyou, although I go to church I feel spiritually starved and needed that word of encouragement. I feel your words are inspired of God and you have reminded me of how I know its God speaking and not my imagination in overdrive. When God speaks to me which isn't often I know it isn't me because the word is usually contrary to my state of mind. One time God gave me a vision and I was at the alter waiting for my future wife to walk down the isle and I knew she was the one. The Devil reminded me that no one woman can satisfy me and that I couldnt commit to one woman. I was able to laugh at the Devil and know that the woman who walked through the door was mine from God. That vision has long since been realised and God didn't change me but he still gave me that wife I didn't deserve. I learnt what unconditional love is for the first time and eventually have come to realise I don't want anyone but my wife. For so long I have been deceived.
You are right in saying that God speaks in a peaceful agreeable way. When God speaks my heart agrees and amen's even though my head often can't work it out. This is the case this time too.
Please keep in touch my heart craves this kind of fellowship. Thanks again

As a babe in CHRIST GOD talks to you through HIS WORD. (BIBLE) This is where you appear to be at right now because of your post.

There is a time where GOD speaks to us but only after HE ANOINTS us with HIS HOLY SPIRIT.

1 JohnChapter 2

20 But you have the anointing that comes from the holy one, and you all have knowledge.

21 I write to you not because you do not know the truth but because you do, and because every lie is alien to the truth.

26 I write you these things about those who would deceive you.

27 As for you, the anointing that you received from him remains in you, so that you do not need anyone to teach you. But his anointing teaches you about everything and is true and not false; just as it taught you, remain in him.

JohnChapter 16
12 "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now.

13 But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming.

14 He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.

15 Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you.
I'm sure you don't feel your to the point where you need no new teacher. Besides you will know when GOD
bestows HIS SPECIAL GIFT the HOLY SPIRIT upon you.

I don't have any difficulty believing what God has said. The problem I have is knowing for certain he has said it. If I can be sure God has said something then I BELIEVE it will come to pass.

I've experienced the same thing. It may seem like we receive a clear promise from God at times, but we can't understand God completely. It could be a future promise since He has his own timing. Or, maybe there is more to it or...whose knows....our minds are much too finite to comprehend Him! Just hold on to the promise, but hold LIGHTLY! Remember when he promised Abraham and Sarah a son? Well, that promise wasn't fulfilled when they thought it would be but when they were really old and past childbearing age. Who knows why He did it that way, but it certain brought glory to His name!

What did God say you say? Well where do I start... To put it into context I would need to give my life story which I'm not prepared to do as publicly as this. So the abridged version goes something like this:
I have suffered with a long term illness which has caused not to be able to work for the last 10 years. I have done a lot of voluntary work including teaching in a Christian school. I had accepted that if this was all God wanted me to do (and after 6 or so years of wrestling with God) and I subjected my will to him. Some time later I was driving my car (towing our caravan) and talking to God in my heart. I was saying that I wanted God's will for my life and not mine and that I will not wrestle any more. I was overtaken by a minibus when God said - I have something else for you. I asked what and God said that sometime in the future I will have my own business. I knew it was God speaking and wasn't an idle daydream because at the time my self esteem and self confidence was so low with all the knock backs I darent think of anything like that. There have been things to suggest that this was a word from God and not my imagination (take too long to tell all here) although nothing tangible has materialised yet. My health has also dipped recently too which has discouraged me. God seems to be so distant (is it just this Country) certainly he is not moving like he did in the 70's. Everyone seems to be just getting by day by day waiting for God to move in this increasingly Godless country. Church seems to be devoid of the spirit of God and I feel spiritually starved.
Someone responded to one of my threads and said I was a spiritaul babe. I could have taken this as an insult but first realised its only my pride thats being insulted - not a bad thing. It did make me realise how spiritually malnourished I am. In desperation I looked on this Christian Forum and have already been blessed by some of your responses, thankyou

Church seems to be devoid of the spirit of God and I feel spiritually starved.

Which church would that be?

I go to a church where we are well fed with God's word. The hymns are filled with God's Word. The readings ARE God's Word. The pastor preaches about God's Word. Nothing missing. :)

As for whether or not God told you that you will one day have your own business, it may or may not have been Him. That is not for any of us to decide. Are you at a point where you can feasibly have your own business or will it be a burden on your family?

It is possible to misunderstand sometimes... This time last year, I interpreted a strong push from the Holy Spirit to leave my company. Once I started looking, a lot of the anxiety started to drop away. I trusted God, and was excited to follow where He lead. Well, I had some interviews, but one of them turned me down, and I got strong signals that the other one was not right. After some time went by, I realized that I DID hear the message properly: look for another job. But I assumed that it also meant that I would GET another job. Instead, I stayed at the company, changing my role somewhat, and my stress level has been cut in half. I was feeling pretty discouraged when the new job didn't come... but looking back, it was the process of starting to look that began the healing process from a bad situation.

YOU ARE LISTENING TO THE WRONG SPIRITS. The time has come to either read GOD'S WORD for WISDOM and UNDERSTANDING or stay with your spirit'S.

Stephen,
Who is listening to wrong spirits? are you saying that to me or the person who left the last thread? Can you explain what you mean

I am sorry if I gave you the impression I was referring to you. If you will notice above my post is a quote of VertigoAge's post. The is the post I was replying to.

He lacks the knowledge of GOD'S HOLY SPIRT and yet refers to something the HOLY SPIRIT has done. The spirits he is listening to and telling other's about are evil spirits. I can support this in GOD'S WORD.

Stephen,
thanks for the warning - I am very new to this forum or any forum for that matter. How do you know he is being guided by evil spirits? Do you know him? or has God given you discernment?
