Did God tell this man to build an ark?

Well, just like Ripley's Believe It Or Not, this is a true story. Today a stranger approached me and said that God told him to build an ark, as the end of the world is coming. He asked me if I wanted to donate some money to help him build his ark. I told him that I would pass, as I donate to a Christian relief organization every month. Hence, he walked away. What are we to make of this event? If he really needed money for food or rent, he certainly could have come up with a better line that God telling him to build an ark.

From what I understand in scriptures, the first destruction of the world was by water but the second will be by fire, so I doubt an arc will help.

Maybe what the guy heard was "build an ark!" but what was said was "Build a WATERPark!" hence the confusion.

Since God promised Noah that there would never be another global flood, and unless his ark is fireproof, I doubt it was God telling him.

IMO - The guy was looking for a handout, and thought a Bible story would sound "Christiany" enough to get it.
