Did God give Adam nipples?

When Adam was created, did he have nipples? If so, why would God have done this?

Men have no use for nipples. Their only purpose is in women as a delivery system of milk to babies.

You must be a hit with the ladies :D

Ok, slightly more seriously, I'd say he did have them because that is not thier only function. "Nerves that innervate the nipple / areola can produce pleasure for both men and women." I don't claim know if God had anything else in mind but maby he thought they would look good :D.

Also, just because we can not understand a purpose does not mean there is none.

Speaking from a biological standpoint (I am not arguing for Creationists here), nipples in men are most likely a vestigial remnant of ourselves in the womb. When we are first assembled into something roughly resembling Aquaman after being run through an X-ray machine a few million times, we are genetically and biologically female.

All of us. For a brief time, ever man on Earth was, at one time, a woman. These nipples do not disapear as we develop into men, they simply arent "hooked up" to anything and remain on us as vestigial. In the womb, nothing is "taken away". We are born with ALL the equipment and things simply shift and change to form us as we are. Things do not disapear.

Can u reference please? I saw a documentary on the Discovery channel that basically says in the womb our features are neutral which is why you can't tell what sex a fetus is.

A foreskin is a highly useful sexual appendage. I recommend reading up on what the organ does for you.

But why does God have it? And why do you reccommend I read about it Im learning about God? Perhaps you mean learning what it does for me I cna learn what it does for God?

Well, I think that if you live in the US, where routine circumcision is common, it would be highly important to read about the positive attributes of a foreskin so as to not put your child through it unnecessarily (if you have any male kids at some point in the future).

However, one also has to wonder why God would need to have an appendage in the first place whose primary purpose was protection of the glans, both from physical injury and from infection, in order to keep sexual sensitivity high.

Edit: For Mary's benefit, perhaps? ;)

That's all well and good, but Adam wasn't born. Adam never went through the process of embryonic development.
Poor Adam. It doesn't surprise me that he didn't obey. The man misses important first 7 years of his development.

Point taken. Primary purpose, then.

Also, this begs the question, was their sex in the garden?

The sex of a fetus is indeterminate because they all start out female. It is the amount of androgens and estrogren present that turns a fetus into a male or female, but this happens at a certain time during gestation. That is why men have nipples.

There have been cases, rare indeed, in which males produce milk.

Boomygrrl
Men have lactated because of illness or a hormonal imbalance, but anyone can produce milk if enough stimulation is applied. And I'm talking a LOT of stimulation. Suckling promotes the release of prolactin, which causes lactation.

Really? Never happened to me or anyone I know. I guess it's rare after all.
Somehow I don't think it's something that men would be all that willing to share with their friends.

That means it's rare only in your locale. Males have mammary tissue, albiet very little. I'm not sure of the global statistics, but I wouldn't call it 'rare indeed'.

The majority of reports of men lactating have been men with gynecomastia, which is when males grow breasts. This condition is not rare and happens to many adolescent boys.
