FACT CHECK: Photographer Said Franken Image Was Staged?

How do you defend the indefensible? One way, apparently, is to make up a fake quote.

In an apparent effort to discredit Leaann Tweeden, the woman who accused Senator Al Franken of groping her during her 2006 USO tour, a quote ostensibly uttered by the photographer who snapped the infamous image was circulated on social media:

hmmm...I wonder: if Snopes always lies does this mean it's not true?

Ugh I hate this stuff so much. It's so difficult to tell what is real and what isn't. There are certainly political and financial reasons why people make up false allegations against people of power. And there are certainly reasons why people of power take advantage of others just because they can. I remember reading awhile ago that after Michael Jackson died, the kids who accused him of molesting them recanted and said it didn't happen. I believed for so long that it was true.

Those demanding Roy Moore step out of the race...he hasn't been tried yet. There was no investigation. Everyone is saying to investigate Franken, and they should, but Moore is automatically guilty and should step out? There's got to be a time where we uphold that someone is innocent until proven guilty, or else anyone can make a false accusation and change history forever.

Knowing about the scripts Franken had written, about raping Leslie Stall, and having Rob Reiner raping his son while discussing casting... it sounds to me like Franken is the pervert, not the woman.

Well, according to the pics I saw, it was obviously staged. I mean that as in he was doing it as a stunt. He's looking back at someone taking his picture. He doesn't even appear to be actually touching her breasts, but just has his hands in front of the vest in the right places. This really doesn't appear to be anything more than a prank picture that some group of guys might make. I'm sure that would make it distasteful for some people, but I certainly don't elevate it to the platform of sexual harassment. Kind of like those pictures of people standing in the right place that it looks like they're holding up the sun, but of course because it's using a sleeping woman's breasts as the object being toyed with, it has to be some kind of sexual harassment.

That's my take on what I've seen of the pics.
