Forget about creation, evolution, and the flood, lets talk about important stuff! Did Adam and Eve have a belly button (umbilicus for you scientific types)? Musta looked weird without one ehh? Of course neither had a need for one because they were both just whipped up by God in the Garden. No actual birth took place so no belly button. I will go to sleep tonight pondering this great mystery. Seacrest out.

The important question is "Did they have cable TV?"

Eden was an Earthly paradise, so... no.

Not even the wily serpent could have devised such evils as The Scripted "Reality" Show, the Late Night Infomercial for a Kitchen Product You Will Never Use, or the Career of Carson Daly.

Let's not forget the shows where they take inventory of every square mile, every diamond encrusted toilet of some celebrity, and at each stop reiterate the fact that they are so much better than us because they have more money.

Did Adam and Eve have a belly button?

I don't know about adam and eve, but it would seem since Cain and Abel, born from Eve, would probably have one

NKJV) Genesis 4:1 Now Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived and bore Cain, and said "I have acquired a man from the LORD."
2 Then she bore again, this time his brother Abel. Now Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground.

Assuming the literal biblical account were true for the sake of the hypothetical:

I don't see why they wouldn't have belly buttons. After all, humans have many vestigial bits an pieces they don't use today, so Adam and Eve having belly buttons would be no different. Not to mention, they would still need to have the proper DNA for umbilicals to pass on to their offspring. No sense in God needlessly modifying Adam and Eve to not look like what their DNA says they should look like, right?

That's assuming there was a literal Adam and Eve, which we now know to be impossible.

I'm sorry. Your mistake. You were already assuming the account to be correct from your first line.

We don't have any written information about 'belly buttons" but we can assume that they are only part of the birth process involving both pain and parents. Adam and Eve had neither pain, parents, or a child hood. According to the account, they were made from scratch.

Modern research has determined that our DNA does have one source. The timing isn't the same as some religious monk has determined Adam & Eve to have been created, but every religious dating method seems to be as flawed as every modern dating method. Science has no business dating the past. That the job of Writers.

I've never gotten that impression. They force themselves to put on that face, but my impression is their goal is to illustrate the opposite. Of course it has to LOOK like a compliment to get the owners approval.

I recommend "Repo Games" where drug dealers and ex-cons answer trivia questions to avoid haveing their cars repossessed. That's entertainment.

I had to assume, for the sake of conversation. I don't actually believe in that Adam and Eve garbage. I thought that it was clear that I really believe the account to be incorrect. At least, I point that out in the last sentence of my post.

Boy you sure can't hold it together very long. Couldn't even hold your argument through the entire post. Never been on a debate team huh? That's where you take the side of an argument that is assigned you and stick to it. No weaseling out at the end of your discussion because you don't happen to agree.

:)
Christianity is not he only religion that believes in the Adam and Eve story in the Bible.
Tho, there may be differences on how each of the 3 abrahamic religions view it

Adam & Eve In The Quran | The Revival
Does the Quran also tell the story of Adam and Eve?

Yes it does, although a different version to the one that appears in the Bible today. The story of Adam
saw.gif
and Eve is known the world over and is used by some to explain how mankind’s existence began on earth. In fact, Christianity, Islam and Judaism all teach that Adam
saw.gif
and Eve were the first humans created by God and that all humans have descended from them. Adam
saw.gif
is also a prophet in Islam.

Did Adam and Eve have a belly button
According to science Adam did have a belly button. Eve did not because she came from Adams rib. The only MtDNA that Adam had to give to Eve he would have gotten from his mother. That is in every cell of our body. The Mitochondrial is the power house of the cell. It looks very much like bacteria. Even some people think it is bacteria that got trapped in the cell. The Mitochondrial breaks down the food and converts it into energy to be used by the cell. For the people who say I know nothing about science take a Jay Leno on the street survey and ask the people what a Mitochondrial is. Perhaps 99% will have no idea what your talking about. But you say I know NOTHING about science.
