  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Take heart, for Jesus Himself was judged falsely. Often when we follow Jesus there will be people (even within the church) that will persecute us. What matters is constantly seeking to know God more through His Son Jesus Christ! Following Jesus is a relationship and the way to become more like Him is to seek Him constantly in every area of your life. Surrender is where transformation occurs. May the peace of Jesus Christ guard your heart and mind!

IMO, you're better off without the other churches. Pray about talking to the new pastor about the situation. Understand that he may have gotten incorrect information about you, so ask the Lord for wisdom and timing. Regarding trust, you may want to test the waters first, say by asking them to pray for smaller things and seeing how sincere they are.

You can go off by yourself, and God will still be there, unless it's a serious act of disobedience. But you'd be much better off if you can find a church home where you belong.

As far as the pastor's brother being a deacon elsewhere, know that some family differences don't stop at the church door. So don't prejudge the pastor based on his brother's church.

greatly said.

And you're going to church not for the people but for jesus and for God.

And yes, talk to the pastor #3, and those pastors you're talking about want their pockets filled, like many here in the country, they aint worthy pastors so no worries about it, just keep on until you find the right church. jesus and God will be so happy to see your persistance in such things, dont let the people prevent you from that, you're going to church for the satisfaction of God not for the satisfaction of pastors. NEVER surrender, but keep going to church no matter what, and no matter where, Jesus will always be with you in your journey, and looking at you with much pride and joy. You shouldnt surrender because of a few pastors who want nothing but money, just move on, you shouldnt be hurt from such people!

And Jesus was always falsely judged, tho. he was perfect, so there's no surprise that you suffer this, but try to help maybe other people who never heard anything about you, or pray for the people you want, the power of prayer and fasting is so great especially when it is about making them turn to the right faith. And Jesus always answers such prayers because he wants the non-believers to start believing more than all of us combined. But of course the answers can take some time, like many years before that happens. So faith is needed for the prayers, and even if the person never turned to god after a few years, just keep having faith that he'll turn and keep praying, God would even send one of his angels by then to make him believe.

It seems like your experiencing religion and self righteouness instead of Christ. I do understand how small towns can have a clan mentality-this isn't christ like.

Thank God for the church you found.

Info on Tithing
NO ONE, absolutely NO ONE pays the Biblical tithe today.

Leviticus 27:30-33, Numbers 18: The First Tithe - a tenth of crops and animals and commanded to take the tithe to the Levites.

Deuteronomy 14:22-27: The Second Tithe aka The Festival Tithe - a tenth of crops, plus add to that the firstborn animals, and take for the yearly feast.

Deuteronomy 14:28-29: The Third Tithe aka The Three-Year Tithe aka The Poor Tithe - a tenth of crops, kept at home, and invite the Levites, widows, orphans, stranger to eat.

Now, tell me. Which of the above three tithes commanded by God does anyone follow today?

The ONLY people in the Old Testament that were commanded to tithe were those who INHERITED THE PROMISED LAND WITH EVERYTHING ON IT. They got the land, house, animals, crops, etc. ALL FREE AND CLEAR. No mortgage payment or rent to pay. And THEY were commanded to tithe on the crops and animals and take it to the Levites who INHERITED the tithe INSTEAD OF the promised land with everything on it. No one else tithed. Wage earners did not tithe. Jesus didn’t tithe. Paul didn’t tithe. Peter didn’t tithe.

HOW CAN YOU COMPARE THAT WITH CHRISTIANS WHO HAVE TO PAY THEIR MORTGAGE PAYMENT OR RENT, INCOME TAXES, PROPERTY TAXES, SALES TAXES, ETC?

There is no way to justify making some “principle” out of the Biblical facts and then apply it to Christians today. It is just flat out wrong and makes no sense at all.

The New Testament teaches generous, sacrificial giving, from the heart, according to our means. For some, $1 might be a sacrifice, while for others, even giving 50% of their income might not induce a sacrifice. In the Old Testament, ONLY the farmers tithed, and it was equal percentage (a tenth). The New Testament teaches the principle of equal sacrifice instead of equal percentage. Equal sacrifice is much harder to achieve, if not impossible, than giving ten percent.

Bless god for your being cast down from the other churches this may be god telling you your town needs a fourth church. One day you may be the one to start it then also you will begin to understand why god loves a cheerfull giver. Remember some of the most favored of god that he used in great ways had to encounter many troubles along the way.

You don't have to have your name on the church membership - God looks at your heart, not the membership role in the church. Sounds like there is a lot of religion going on and not worship from the heart. Churches with a lot of legalism (man made rules) will do more harm than good.

Don't let anyone put guilt on you about tithes or how you worship or membership. When you are ready you will know - you need freedom to worship and not made to fall into the legalism of the churches.

When we give to god this shows our willingness to trust him for our needs and to our obedience toward for him. When we bring our offering to the church this glorifys god rather than ourselves.reference Malachi chapter 3 verse 10 . This does not mean that we shouldn't provide help elsewhere as to offerings to those in need. It is what's in our heart that god understands not our bank accounts. The act of giving is like letting go even if you think your going to fall but trusting he will catch you. Paul said without faith it is impossible to please him

This is sooo true. My dad went over this verse with me. But you know something I have not found anything in the bible that talks about 10% of tithing. I am going to post a new post so I can get clarification on it.

If you feel the church is the problem, pull away for a few weeks, continue your worship alone and pray, read the Bible and ask for direction. I think your problem is a lot of legalism (man made laws) - God will not judge you for pulling away until you can make up your mind and let God talk to you - led by Jesus and the Holy Spirit - I guarantee you will get a clear head if you can get away from it. I know - been there done that. Let God make things clear to you and what you should do - a few weeks away will not harm you and will allow you to see if it is just legalism that is messing with your mind. You won't grow farther away from God - you will become closer - I know, that is what I am doing right now and my walk has never been closer. Concentrate on just walking your walk, helping people, praying, studying and talking to God. You will see a big difference.

It's all a question of where God wants you. Because where He wants you is where the blessing is, even if there is opposition. But it is ok to draw aside if your spirit is vexed, to give the Lord a chance to speak His desires into your spirit. Many of us are indeed having difficulty with the church, and quite a few, frankly, are out of church. I'm not saying this is ideal; it's not, and I'm not wishing it on you. But sometimes it is the best alternative. However this plays out, keep God Number One and you'll come out on top.

I found myself in a similar situation. I had a disagreement with a pastor in which he no longer wanted me their he made public of my removal from the membership.when I try ed to go to other churches of the same denomination miles away their was always some their from the same networks of people.what I did was ask god to bring me to the church of his will. He lead me to such a blessing with a non denominational Christian church I've found a home! Maybe a denomination change would help you could study others to see if you agree with them. We are all be livers but their are huge differences between denominations and their interpretation of the bible.keep a open mind study the word pray about it.I am sure god will reviel his plan for your life right on his perfect time.Romans chapters 2 and chapter 8 have been inspirational to me through all this. God bless
