I have read Desire of Ages, Great Controversy, Steps to Christ, most of the Testimonies and various other EGW writings. I was an Adventist for 27 years, spouse was a lifelong Adventist (50 years) and was employed by the SDA church. So, I don't speak from ignorance regarding Adventism/EGW. If sticking with scripture makes one ignorant, then I am guilty as charged.

Many millions of Adventists today who "just stick with the Bible" find that 1Cor 12 is "in the Bible" so also 1Cor 14:1 and 1Thess 5:19-21 telling us not to ignore or set aside the prophetic statements of those sent by God with messages for His church.

"Give me just the Bible - but not the actual teaching found in the Bible" is not a legit "Just the Bible" model.

It is yet another appeal to man-made tradition and comfort over the actual words IN the Bible.

We must all be careful about that.

in Christ,

Bob

LOC might be somebody's idea of "Life of Christ" or "Desire of Ages" unwilling to say "Desire of Ages"??

Since the Desire of Ages is a real book are you sure that's what LOC is....
...One can't consider something tactile a myth.
...Or is is saying the things in the book are myth?

"LOC" is an abbreviation for "Library of Congress." In other words, it has been said that The Desire of Ages was deemed by the Library of Congress to be one of the best books written on the life of Christ.

Whether it is true or not, I don't know. Perhaps someone can cite where the Library of Congress has made this statement.
