• CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I just wanted to share this beautiful song, sung by ''WHITEHEART''. I have felt like a ''desert rose'' at times when life has been difficult, and I have been in a ''dry land'' spiritually, but God has kept me going. Jesus has been my faithful friend through it all. May God bless you too. :groupray:

DESERT ROSE

Lost in a windswept land,

in a world of shifting sand,

a fragile flower stands apart,

and there in that barren ground,

you feel like the only one,

trying to serve Him with all your heart,

and you wonder, wonder,

can you last much longer.

This cloud you are under,

will it cover you.

Chorus:

Desert rose, desert rose,

don't you worry, don't be lonely,

heaven knows, heaven knows,

in a dry and weary land,

a flower grows,

His desert rose,

desert rose.

Sometimes holiness

can seem like emptiness,

when you feel the whole world's laughing eyes,

but if it's a lonely day,

know you're on the Father's way.

He will hear you when you cry,

and He will hold you, hold you.

Your Father will hold you.

He will love you, love you

for the things you do.

I have always loved that song! It is beautiful! Here's a poem that Jesus gave me about His rose, which you are, dear friend.

Jesus speaks:

My Father gave Me a rose
that grows beneath My cross.
This beautiful chosen rose
more lovely it grows every day.
I nourish it with My blood,
tend it with My love.
And soon I will come
and pluck it from the earth,
and take it with Me far away!

It patiently bears the thorns
and weathers every storm.
In the center of her heart
blooms the fragrance of love.
An imperishable seed
planted there from the Father above.
And like Me she must die,
with Jesus crucified.
And with the life she gives,
others will live.

The rose is colored red.
covered with the blood I shed.
She opens her petals to Me,
and lifts her face trustingly
In the brillance of the Son,
she is the beautiful chosen one.
Birthed at the cross My Church, My Bride,
when the spear thrust into My side!

Great poem!...here is one the Lord gave me:

Ode to the Rosebush
by Irvin L. Rozier
The rose flower has such a wonderful smell
In this poem, a story I must tell
Roses are red, yellow, pink and sometimes peach
Many lessons of life the rosebush can teach

Look at all those shiny green leaves
Watch out for the thorns, roll down your sleeves
Spring, summer, fall and winter are the seasons
The Master grew the rosebush for many reasons

He said the rose can brighten my child's day
When the skies are gloomy during the month of May
A sweet fragrance I'll make the rose exude
The hummingbirds, bees, and butterflies I must include

They will enjoy the roses as they blossum
'Neath the rosebush, will be a bed for an opossum
He must have a shelter from the storms I send
He can smell the roses until the storms end

The Master was pleased that He had made the rose
He sent a fragrant rain to give it a dose
Of life giving water that made the rose grow
And blossum with pretty flowers like unto a rainbow

When your life is troubled and filled with doubt and fears
Look at the dew on the roses, and remember Jesus' tears
As they placed the crown of thorns upon His sweet head
Father forgive them is the words He said

The rose reminds us of this earthly life
The thorns amongst the beauty are as sharp as a knife
But the knicks and cuts are worth the prize
Beautiful roses on the table, no matter what the size.
