Do you mean Messianism or the Messianic movement - they are not always the same thing? Messianism is the name given to the study of Jewish hopes for a Messiah throughout their history (it has this meaning certainly in the UK if not elsewhere).
In this case, the Messianic movement.

Sounds very accurate to me.

I prefer the term Messiahism nowadays, for this particular religion, and Messiahists for those who adhere to this Christian religion -- as they believe a particular man was "messiah". All Jews who observe Judaism are actually "messianic", by virtue of our knowledge and assurance that HaShem's Messiah will come when he should; therefore "messianic Judaism" limited to any one religion, is rather a misnomer IMO.

Messianism is not a denomination; it is the faith. When Acts says that they were first called Messianics in Antioch, before that, believers were simply known as another sect of the Jews. The faith is not something that we think that we have now, it is a journey that we walk on. For me, I don't call myself Messianic by denomination, but by the aim of my faith. I want the faith the all the prophets and apostles and the Messiah Himself had. That is how I believe Messiansim to be though some try to split it into doctrinal differences.

I disagree I think the term Messianic is perfect for the believer in Yeshua as He is the Messiah.....I agree that Judiasm looks forward to the Messiah coming one day but that day is a reality for us and thus Messianic is very appropriate

nah, every Jew who follows Judaism is, by definition and necessity, Messianic. There's no arguing it, of course. But, it's quite reasonable to call anyone who claims a specific individual as messiah, a messiahist. It's accurately descriptive without ignoring the reality that all Jews who practice Judaism are "messianic". Just as all Jews who practice Judaism are "believers", so referring to xians as believers to the exclusion of Jews (again, practicing Judaism), is also an unfortunate misnomer.

Define faith.

Eph 4:5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

There is only one faith. It is a journey and many are on different levels, but as long as one has the goal to be perfect and righteous in His eyes (which means to obey His commandments, statutes, and judgements) they are on the right track.

This is why I questioned the OP key word. Messianism is NOT Messianic belief as per this forum - they are two distinctly different terms just as evangelism and evangelicalism are two distinctly different words, as are etic and emic etc etc.

Again, I agree. Just as there is small segment of Lubavitchers who have unfortunately stepped outside of Judaism are called meshichist due to their their heretical beliefs.

Shouldn't that be [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse]

Sorry, like Oscar Wilde I can withstand anything but temptation

Im very proud to be called by that name it fits me like a glove
Shavua tov!

I think messiahist is reasonable and fitting.

I was merely elucidating some thoughts I have had recently. I think it's a shame that followers of certain variants of xianity tend to lay claim to certain terms and use them restrictively (terms such as "Messianic", "Believer", etc.), as though those terms naturally exclude Jews practicing Judaism since we hold to HaShem Alone and not your messiah. I don't think, in the end, it's an accurate portrayal of others to use these terms so exclusively.
