Reportedly, 738 persons have been charged as of today, 225 of them for resisting arrest. Others are charged with breaking windows and still others for trespassing in the US Capitol building, "parading," and scattering paper. At least one was accused of standing in the crowd outside the building and walking around. About 40 are still held in jail for offenses allegedly committed 12 months ago.

Incidentally, the Attorney General announced today or yesterday that he is intending to start going after people who might have been sympathetic to anybody who has been charged because they, as he put it, are opponents of "democracy."

Where does he state that? Cite it or retract your assertion. .

you have minimized the activities at those riots, people got killed, officers were seriously injured, we are not talking about simple civil disobedience.
The context of national importance may seem irrelevant if you don't value democracy as much as you value a clean streets and broken windows.

But rest assured that going through insurance to fix broken windows is an easier repair than the erosion of democracy.

I dunno. It's pretty irrelevant point though reallyr. I mean it would be great if every incident of injustice was met with the requirement of human victims having life and limb restored.

Luckily for both blm rioters and 1/6 rioters there are courts prosecuting them and your point about the human impact is valid for both riots.

Again, rest assured that going through insurance to fix broken windows is an easier repair than the erosion of democracy

What erosion of democracy?
We have appx 30% of the country who think we have a falsely installed president and are primed to believe it in the future if their preferred candidate doesn't win.

I understand you are incapable of addressing the actions of the president without referring to whataboutism. Sorry, I do not have to play that game....and won't .
Double standard, anyone?

Where did you get these numbers?

The AG said "725" people charged and that was obviously a rounded number. Those tracking such things online now tabulate 705. (It was 704 yesterday until the arrest of a man who urinated on column was announced.) The AG's number probably includes those who have arrest warrants but haven't been arrested or whose arrest hasn't been announced. There is no "738" value I've seen anywhere.

This is a site that tracks the criminal cases related to Jan. 6. The only thing you might find objection to is the name of the site. The rest is just a compilation of public data.

Sedition Has Consequences

I don't know of any one charged with "resisting arrest". (I'm not even sure if it is a federal crime.) Almost no one was arrested on that day anyway as there were too many violators and not enough cops to arrest those who were clearly violating trespass laws.

Yes, there are about 40 being held pre-trial. All of those are charged with serious felonies and were determined by a judge to be either a risk to the community or flight risks if released. When you subtract away the 150 or so that have plead guilty to misdemeanors, about 1 in 15 is jailed pre-trial.

Incidentally, the Attorney General announced today or yesterday that he is intending to start going after people who might have been sympathetic to anybody who has been charged because they, as he put it, are opponents of "democracy."

Again this is mangled.

The AG said they would charge those who made J6 happen even if they weren't there. To do so those people would have needed to committed a crime, but there are several including conspiracy.

Are you also mixing in the AG's statements about protecting election workers and public officials from death threats and the like?

Neither of these things are about being "sympathetic" to the J6 arrested people. They are not coming after you Albion.

It's now up to 775 or something close to that. Not one of them has been arrested on charges of being involved with an insurrection.

That's interesting, don't you agree, considering that the propaganda is always about these people having been part of an insurrection?
