  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

For the past several months, I've been doing very well in my mental health and in other areas of my life. The past two weeks, however, I've noticed that I'm sliding back into a depressed mindset. These symptoms are manageable and I'm not worried, but I do ask for prayers that God will lift me out of this rut of depression.

Thank you all

Sometimes believe it or not, The weather can affect depression, When there are cold fronts or storms moving in and things like barometric pressure drops or rises, These make depression worse for some.

Father, please shine the light on the shovel (Your written Word) You have given us to dig ourselves out of the depressions we may find ourselves in. If it takes practice, exercise, and experience, use these things to help them learn to use that "shovel" well. May they develop the callous hands of using that shovel in a mighty way that blesses them and glorifies You. Amen.

We pray that the Lord will guide you in His word for times such as these. Isaiah 41:10, Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. 1 Peter 5:7, Cast all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you; Philippians 4:6-7, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

The Bible is full of stories of those who also must have been in the pit of despair. Imagine how Joseph felt when his brothers sold him off. We don't really hear much about how he does feel, but it could not have been so easy for him to deal with that rejection from his own brothers. Yet God kept him safe and rewarded his faith.

And then there is Job. He lost everything -- family, home, riches, friends. I cannot even imagine how he felt, but I know he could not have felt much more than anxiety and depression. Yet, God rewarded his faith and blessed with even more abundance.

And what about David? He was always being chased by those who would see him dead. And the Psalms are filled with prayers of him overcoming his despair.

We serve a God who is so very aware of our sorrows, one who weeps with us, yet one who provided us with comfort through His Word that He will never forsake us and that nothing can separate us from His love. That is cause for so much joy -- regardless of how we are feeling. That is the beauty of knowing that no matter what this life brings to us, we are righteous because His blood covers us.

It is not always easy to remember that He paid the highest price for our souls. It is not always easy to walk in that redemption. I hope that you are encouraged to remember that you are not expected to do this alone. He is with you, no matter where you go, no matter how you feel. Remember that He loves you! There is no condemnation in Him. Be blessed! Believe what he says of you -- You are mine, and I am yours. You are loved forever!!!

God Bless You!
