Hmm... anything on Stabbing Westward's Darkest Days album is fairly depressing, but check out track 16- waking up beside you. I'm not sure why, but I always tear up a little over Push by Matchbox 20.

What else? Emotionaless by Good Charlotte, Happy in the Meantime by Lit, How do I Live- I think its by Trisha Yearwood, and Innocence by Fuel.

My suggestion for the next themed music post- Sunday Driving songs.

Here's a different style of music: classical. Sometimes they came up with really depressing stuff. Whenever I was down in the dumps, I listened to an adagio by Albinoni. (Also used in a movie called "Gallipoli").

Here's a sample. (Hope the link works)

i've heard alot that joy division's -closer is suppose to be depressing, but i don't see it. maybe its the lyrics, not the music that is depressing? ????

but for depressing music, i'd say sigur ros's (). I don't know, theres something really depressing about the opening track, and then that just draws u into the cd.

If you happen to want to see what hardcore-type music sounds like, I'd suggest "Poison the Well"'s CD "You Come Before You" as the whole thing is fairly depressing.

I'd check out some of Beck's older albums if you want good folk sounding depression. Or "TSOL - Flowers by the Door" for some old punk depression.

hehe..many genres, same theme.
