  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They have a term for this. It's called EMO. :D

I could rant on this one for a long long time, but Emo is the worst idea for a sub-genre ever. All music should be emotional in some way.

I'f you're looking for "depressed" music (another term which drastically needs redeeming) I'd look into The Bends or OK Computer by Radiohead. In fact, for anyone looking for any music, go and get any Radiohead album. Even if you don't like them...

I don't think The Bends is that depressing. OK Computer, yeah, though not much either. I think Hail To the Thief is their more depressing album so far, IMO. "I Will" is a very depressing song, not only the music, but what is it about. I made a little experimental short film using very disturbing images, and from all the songs I tried pinning to it, only "I Will" fit. The whole thing was very sad and too freaking depressing even for my own taste.

Hail to the theif is by far their most depressing album.

Depends if you actually read into it or not. When you look into it a little, it's lovely. Thom himself described it as jubilant. And unlike The Bends and OK Computer, it isn't laced with songs about suicide and domestic abuse. Bit I guess it has A Wolf At The Door and We Suck Young Blood... it's a mix, really, like all their albums...
