I've taken this test several times and deliberately been flexible on those questions where I can see both sides. It always calls me an Anglican, which I am. The reason, I think, is that if you tend to answer the way the majority of Christians might, such as on mainline issues like the Trinity, and you avoid affirming those that might be considered somewhat out of the mainstream--such as opposing infant baptism or speaking in tongues, etc.--you'll probably be thought a good match for Anglicanism. But then again, that IS the nature of Anglicanism, a Christian faith which likes to say that it has no beliefs of its own (which many denominations do have) but merely continues in the center of historic Christianity. Put another way, the church is often said to be a bridge between Catholicism and Protestantism, which also might explain the results of this test.

On just about every other such test I've taken Anglican (or Episcopalian) comes out as my top match. I'm not sure why it didn't on this one. Maybe I misunderstood some of the questions.

P.S.: I guess that must be it. I retook it twice, with slighty different answers, and it came up with Anglican as #1 both times.

Though my actual church is Assemblies of God (part of the Pentecostal group), that does make sense. My beliefs are probably more Anglican and Methodist than Pentecostal, and I'm on the same page with Lutherans on a lot of things to the point where I've been called a "closet Lutheran". The Pentecostal movement grew out of the Methodist/Wesleyan tradition, which in turn branched off from the Anglican tradition, so that part all ties together.

Well, we scored differently but I don't think we're actually that far apart... though I'm not sure how you got the SDA and Quaker stuff in there.

I am basically a charismatic Anglican-Methodist-Lutheran who happens to belong to an Assemblies of God church. (I'm not complaining -- it's where God put me, and I love my church.)

Bear in mind that Pentecostalism developed out of Methodism, so a lot of Pentecostal theology is Methodist, just a more conservative branch of it. With of course the Spirit-filled stuff added. (I've been reading a book called The Theological Roots of Pentecostalism. I don't remember the author, and I had to return it to the library... but I'll probably check it out again.)

Yeah I did see notice that Pentecostals and Methodists share a lot of similar theology...very interesting. I have never personally experienced the spirit-filled thing and I'm sure I might just end up confused out of my mind.

Wow - I was born and raised Catholic, and I admit that I'm looking for another denomination/church...and it says my #1 is Baptist!
...which is what I've been looking at...
