does anyone know anything about this?
I am going to talk to my priest, I worry that I might suffer from this.
I am not saying that I do, I am just saying it is possible
If you are serious, you have to talk to a priest who takes it seriously, some priest don't. he might blow you off.
There is a web site that has prayers and self help advice and prayers if you think there is.
The bottom line is, everyone is harassed by demons at one point or another.
A complete confession of sin and then denouncing all sin attachments you have,
really repenting, really converting, really renouncing, forgiving everyone in life, getting rid of resentments etc. Is how you free yourself. That and going to the sacraments regularly, living a innocent life.
If you do not find all the sins or vices you are hanging on to and truly purge yourself of it, those are windows and door the demons can enter through and get you off track.
They don't have to be
inside you oppressing you. any situation that is sinful, where sin is being committed or any negative energy, strife, ugliness, fighting, etc, they will be there hanging out making it worse. They are drawn to sin and negativity and if they are hanging around, they can make a situation worse.
Let me give you an example. If you committed a sin, the demons are drawn to you, and if you feel bad about it- the demons can make you feel even worse in order to prevent you from trusting in God's mercy so you will fall into despair, thinking it's hopeless and so you will give up. It's a gift of God to feel bad, because that leads to repentance but the demons can interfere with that and make you depressed instead where you want to give up.
What is most important is for you is to never rely on feelings and emotions but on what you know. You know God forgives 70 x's 70, you know you are born again and He who lives in you is greater then he who is in the world, so pick yourself up, dust off, repent- go to confession and move on.
If you have to do this twice a day, then do it... God may or may not deliver you. He may test you, you may have a thorn like St Paul... I don't know, point is, you never give in or give up.
