Now if I told you, it wouldn't be a secret anymore...

But at last, I shall reveal my secret to the world. The way I keep my mind sharp, is by never using it so that it never gets dull... ;) Amen? Sharp things go dull quicker when you use them?

All seriousness aside, however, I cannot say that I can take any credit for whatever good I am. Only the bad...

I am who I am due to nurture or nature.
In the Greek, that means the way my parents raised me, or the way God created me.
... or both... ;)

What am I? I am someone who likes to watch documentaries, listen to lots and lots of podcasts and sermons and audiobooks, and get on the internet and just randomly read about different topics on wikipedia and elsewhere. Wherever my immediate interest takes me. I also like to listen to clean comedy. (Brian Regan, Steven Wright, and others)

Add to this that I seem to have a wonderful memory for everything except for schedules... I expose myself to a lot of ideas, critically think about them, and I tend to remember them. I try to apply the ones that ought be applied.

How do I keep my mind sharp, by only using it on nontrivial things? And always sharpening it... something like that... maybe?

Awesome answer !!!!
Sure is nice to see somebody being nice on here, I was beginning to think........uh where am I ? Good deal I really like your answer. Ah nope I give you no time to edit ha ha.....much love my friend

Well my Grand Paw is a farmer rather than a rancher.

His blueberry bushes should be getting close to harvest. Can't wait.
I'm attempting to grow some from a pot. They are blooming, but being so young (and I so inexperienced), I am not sure how they will fare.

about the friendliness.
I think it would help if the forum had more socially neutral subforums.

Every subforum seems directed at individual denominations or at cultivating discord between the different factions. How about some subforums and sticky threads that are directed at people who just want to... shoot the breeze with like-minded (or unlike-minded) people who aren't going to make inappropriate comments/replies? Like we are doing now?

Rather than every subforum being directed at the discussion of debating either specific denomination or politics?

On the forum part - sadly I have to agree with you, because not everybody is on the same level, mentally, spiritually or emotionally and we all have different needs and opinions and struggles. Who knows some duh country chick might have the answer to a very smart theologian, ya know? hint hint

Friendship is very important - like right now I could tell you a million crazy things about what I grow and do ( no mary jane though lol ) the kinda stuff good ole folks like to eat !!

But yes, there needs to be a wider door for these areas. And who knows maybe one day we can have that, huh?

My hubby loves blueberrys - I do too, but I do not like sweets at all, aint that weird. I loveeeeee meat and veggies. No carbs, I dont know why thats just me.

So I probably just need to carry on this conversation with ya somewheres else there partner for we get booted out the barn......I'll send ya something soon. In the mean time you stay sharp as a whipper snapper, YA HEAR !!

And for the record (hem hem) I love bringing satans kingdom down and lifting MY LORDS kingdom higher and higher.

What is the difference between oppression? possession? torment?
AND can you describe the difference between these? By providing your story or situation that you have either personally witnessed or has happened to you. Whether you even know the difference or not, can you at least share your story by providing insight into this realm. Thank you and blessings in Jesus name :prayer:

Hmmm .... I can't say I really know the answer. But from my experience I know demons can oppress and torment a Christian. Paul in the bible experienced this. He had a "thorn in his flesh" ... "a messenger of satan" ... who "buffeted him".

As a Christian I have form time to time experienced demons attacking me in my physical body, at one point I thought I was possessed by satan due to these attacks. I have since learned it is just demonic attacks, and have gained the faith to keep the demons away.

Many things in the Spirit operate by faith, when Peter doubted Jesus as he walked on water he sank beneath the waves. The same I feel happens with demons, if we doubt our authority demons will stay, if we have faith they are compelled to leave.

The bible tells us to "resist the devil (steadfastly in the faith) and he will flee" ... resistance is often a fight, but it is a fight of faith. Strong belief that we have blessing not cursing in Jesus.

So, it is greater is demons in the World, than Jesus and Holy Spirit in You? How can a demon have power over God' Word?
If a person aligns him or herself with the world, then because the devil is the god of this world, he or she is opening up to demonic influence. Demons cannot force their influence on people. They have to be invited. Anyone, including a believer, who meddles with the occult is inviting demonic influence into their lives. They are turning away from God's word in that area of their lives, and so this gives place for demonic influence. The scripture tells us not to give place to the devil. This means that we don't allow the garbage that demons can use as a lever for influence or to feed on into our lives.

I 100% agree with this. It is very well written, and true. However there is one point to think about. That is that Satan's plans are not always so cut and dry. With my situation, out of a situation pain, i fell into a small sin. Satan saw me fall, and used it as an excuse to say he owned me. For years I was oppressed by demons telling me I had out sinned God's grace. That I could never be forgiven, and belonged to the devil. This was not true, it was a lie. He used that lie and the lie of possession to keep me from God, and my destiny in God. We have to be very careful, not to associate demons, even apparent possession, with a so-called truth of separation from God.

Satan does not only oppress the guilty, since my experience, I have seen many innocent people oppressed by demons, they have not even sinned, but satan is claiming ownership of them. Often people who claim to be possessed are not.

In my situation, additional to the sin fear, I had a hernia or tear, which made me feel uncomfortable. Satan would attack my body at that point of physical weakness, and claim ownership of me. I had no idea it was a hernia, and truely felt possessed. No matter what I did no one could "So-called", cast the demon out of me. And no wonder, it was a physical ailment. On another occasion I was on a medication that was causing facial movements, the devil again told me, "See I own you". The doctor changed my medication and the facial movements stopped. But this so-called possession, was so real to me that I felt like walking out on my marriage, so an not to be a bother to my wife.

Demons are tricky, out of around 20+ people who I have talked to who have claimed to have demons, or be owned by satan, are just like I was under a clever deception. There are people who have true demonic possession which normally manifests in mental illness, but true possession is rare.

Well I am done, I have searched the whole house, and found no listening device. Who could have heard me say "who let the dogs out" starting about 2 weeks ago and several times since? Now that is truly amazing! Just kidding about searching the house.
