  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's not wrong. Grammar and syntax changes over time, and its ultimately no different from using "Republican" and both a noun and an adjective instead of "Republicanic"
No, it is wrong because the actual name of the parties are the "Democratic Party" and the "Republican Party".
It is wrong, just because one word can be both an adjective and a noun does not mean another word is the same. Democrat is the noun, Democratic is the adjective. Republican is both a noun and adjective. This is not about changes over time, it's about applying an epithet to a political party because you don't want to say they are democratic.
People who refer to the "Democrat Party" expose their bias. That can be helpful in understanding their posts.

I think Trump is missing several IQ points to come up with that kind of dog whistle.
