I know how you feel.

I told everyone I knew that Trump was a bad candidate.

I voted for Cruz to stop him. Little did I know, there is no stopping what can not be stopped. Only GOD can stop what can not be stopped.

You may be right.

Cruz was not up to the fight during the primary ... and wouldn't have been up for the even tougher prolonged fight which ensued immediately following Hillary's rejection.

Hillary bought the DNC and Trump was the Pied Piper candidate designed to win in the primaries and lose in the general.
Except someone in Hillary Media Control blew it and Trump won. Or was it in Media Hillary Control? Or Hillary FBI Control? To strange a nut to crack. We'll never know. It was a strange election. Poor Bernie. Politically he was way too far left, but he seemed a decent person, and he really got shafted.

We really should have had a presidential debate between Ted Cruz and Bernie Sanders. :(

Franken's 'resignation' was politically necessary as a ploy against Roy Moore in Alabama. Sounds strange but I think it really was the case. If Moore won, a definite possibility, the contrast between Franken and Moore would have been stark. There would have been intense pressure not to allow Moore to be seated in the Senate. But since Moore lost, there is less of a political reason for Democrats to have to force Franken out.

There is a Minnesota groundswell to keep Franken as Senator. At least among progressive social activist types. Not the rest of us. And I think that is because he has been a loyal progressive political activist, and that is way more important to them than personal morality.

I think that the witch hunts will continue. The goal is still to take down Trump. When these senators finally figure out that keeping Franken will make the war against Trump a tiny bit more difficult, they will cry the crocodile tears for him but privately tell him he darn well better resign. Besides, his replacement, picked by the Minnesota governor is another progressive with impeccable Planned Parenthood credentials, having been a PP regional director before being Lt. Governor. They really lose nothing with Franken gone. They will keep their eyes on their goal, which is to take Trump down one way or another.

I'm a 'never Trump' guy but I find that the war on Trump is disgusting.

Well the GOP wanted Alabama to decide. MN has a recall option. If they want to get rid of him, they can.

When Hillary was nominated at the convention, I told my friend I thought Trump had a better chance of winning than anybody thought. I was sure he tapped into a feeling that a bunch of people had that they didn't want to voice. Right or wrong, I think a lot of people felt that their group (however they identified) had been left behind by Washington and decided to vote for a guy that claimed he would be their voice. I think he is their voice, but I don't really think that shines a good light on them. Just my opinion.

I never thought Hillary was a safe bet either, but the GOP also knew she was going to run and so they started a campaign against her while she was still SoS.

I really wish at this time that the Church would draw back a bit from the political fray and do a little internal soul searching. There is a serious problem when we are choosing candidates that are the opposite of every fruit of the spirit we are supposed to use as a guide. There is a serious problem when someone says "If Jesus Christ got off the cross and said Trump colluded, I'd ask Trump to confirm." Or that they'd rather have a child molester than a democrat in office.

I'm not sure we have any recall option until the 2020 election. He will be recalled then. But wait. He is a 'progressive' so he will probably be re-elected anyway. Or recount votes until he wins, like the first time he was 'elected'. In an Obama landslide in Minnesota he lost by about 46 votes and they brought in the high priced Washington lawyers to recount until he won. A comic election that one was.

The odd thing is he is pretty much a lame duck at the moment. Lots of people in Minnesota would laugh before he even tried to tell a joke. Nobody seems to want him as a co-sponsor on any bills anymore. And the woman chosen to replace him has progressive creds out the wazoo. Not that I approve of who the governor chose to replace him.

So the guy that was given permission to kiss this gal, by the gal, got a little carried away, and is now considering reinstatement for a resignation that should never have been necessary to begin with?

Why is that a problem? Did I miss something there?

I think there were a few more accusers. I don't know all the details though.

There almost has to be, and hoping someone can enlighten us on that and whether or not any other accusers accusations where pretty much as invalid as the one I refer too.

Kissing was the least of it.

Groping was the main accusation.

There were several accusers. And there is that picture, for which any alternate explanations just don't make sense. He was caught dead to rights. His apologies were lame, in a sort of blame the victim kind of way. He will do the right thing, belatedly, if he does indeed resign.

For the first one, even if Roger Stone wasn't tipping his hand that he was involved, after I saw the video of the performance, I knew the accusations were trash. Right after kissing Al, she turned around and kissed a service man, and didn't ask his permission. She didn't seem distressed to me AT ALL.

Here are all the misconduct accusations against Al Franken, who is resigning from the Senate

Below is not addressed to you, camille.

Not good. Being an entertainer doesn't give anyone 'permission' anymore than being a wealthy, prominent businessman does or the owner of beauty pageants does.

From the "How many people predicted this?", files: Franken urged to reverse his resignation

At least four senators are urging Al Franken to reconsider resigning, including two who issued statements calling for the resignation two weeks ago and said they now feel remorse over what they feel was a rush to judgment.

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.), who urged Franken not to step down to begin with — at least not before he went through an Ethics Committee investigation — said the Minnesota senator was railroaded by fellow Democrats.
...
“The most hypocritical thing I’ve ever seen done to a human being — and then have enough guts to sit on the floor, watch him give his speech and go over and hug him? That’s hypocrisy at the highest level I’ve ever seen in my life. Made me sick,” Manchin said
.
Now, Al Franken is the victim. See how that works.

Does this mean the witch hunts are finally over? What about Trump?

As sad as it is that Franken goes under this circumstances he should. He maybe innocent or guilty, but he should focus on clearing his name and show a respect for the office by ensuring someone else can take the reigns. This is really despicable and shameful behaviour by the Democrats and shows how cheap their word and loyalty is. They can't be trusted even by their own side.

They plan on continuing that for at least another year, guess they think that will help them in the midterms... ^_^

Witch hunts are a phenomenon of mass hysteria. As such, they go on until the hysteria passes.
