You claimed "A number of federal judges are blatantly violating the U.S. Constitution." Merchan isn't a federal judge; he's a state judge. And while I have criticisms of how he handled the Trump case, I don't think he violated the Constitution in doing so.
Reread the post. When I said "like" Merchan it was in reference to violating the Constitution.

As I said, should a "legal matter" come up.
As has happened. Several of Trump's executive orders have been challenged by various courts, resulting in stays from, at last count, nine different judges in different jurisdictions.

The court is supposed to address a real law that they legitimately believe is being broken.
Again, as has happened. Courts also address constitutional issues....and when an executive order is deemed to be unconstitutional, courts can rule on that. With the Supreme Court being the final authority.

All part of the checks and balances our government has in place.

-- A2SG, after all, if the president has no limits on this powers, that would make him a dictator, and I keep hearing that Trump doesn't intend to be one.....

I take it you meant "can't" instead of "can." Don't you remember President Obama creating the U.S. Digital Office?
Please do not misunderstand my argument.
I’m not suggesting that Presidents cannot create an agency.
I am suggesting that Presidents have a better basis than the “definitions section” of a Law to underpin their creation.

In this context, "shutting down the government" just means that the government isn't going to pay its bills for a while. Which is bad, but it's not the same thing as disbanding the entire governmental structure.

As to building a new government: If Jesus comes back in, say, AD 4500, it will behoove us to take care of our nation and our government between now and then. Protect what's good, reform it as needed. If we trash the whole thing right now, we're going to be living in the trash heap we've made for some years. Building a working, stable democracy is not a trivial thing.

Senator Andy Kim (D-NJ) signaled on Sunday that he would be “open to joining Democrats in shutting down the government to protest the Trump administration’s upheaval of federal agencies and funding.”

Take this seriously, look what they did to the U.S. in four years. Their agenda is not in the best interests of our country.
The average US citizen does not care who shuts down the government let lone remember it happened. What they do remember is the cost of groceries, the cost of products. This month the rate of inflation rose, despite Trump pledges to bring them down on day one. And the tariffs haven't even kicked in yet. So to me, just thinking out loud and as prices rise, Trump has till 2026 to finish taking an indiscriminate sludge hammer to functioning agencies. Because if, and I say if, Dems take control that congress won't be too scared to cross Trump and get primaried like the current non profiles in courage.

I don't recall Trump said he would bring inflation down within his first month of office. What is happening is that left-wing judges are halting Trump's efforts to cut out the wasted money, money that was essentially stolen from the taxpayers and used for left-wing political causes.. It's not indiscriminate, let me tell you now that every drag queen and trans opera or show will be eliminated, every racist program, that means DEI and CRT, that can be shut down will be shut down.

Consumer Price Index. If you don't drive prices down on day one as declared, and they actually rise, then that drives inflation. How about Trump just go about things the right way and judges, including Trump appointed Judges, don't have to rebuke him? If he wants to audit, appoint Musk head of the GAO.

A small team works best, just like Obama created with his Digital Service.

Not the same at all.
One was strictly advisory; just like the Reagan Grace Commission.
The other is literally taking agencies over, shutting agency employees out and firing people.
Not the same at all.
So one more time, there is an agency to conduct audits.

I see, since Obama had a strictly advisory group so Obama's is outstanding, but since Trump's group fires people his is unacceptable. If Musk just advises Trump to fire and Trump does the firing then it's OK with you? Did you know FEMA gave something like 52 million dollars last week to house migrants in fancy hotels? Remember FEMA passed up people in dire need of disaster relief because they had Trump signs in their yards? These government people are STEALING money from the American taxpayer, using it to advance their political agenda.

Obama's was just like Reagan's; advisory only. Trump's on the other hand is getting a judicial beat down for over stepping what they can and can't do. And no, money allocated to the Border Patrol was used for it's intended purpose. It was allocated to the states, and the states decide how and where they spend the money.

Actually it didn't matter what Trump did, they were going to bring more lawsuits. And there are plenty of arrogant judges as well. They already illegally interfered in a presidential election, this baloney is totally expected. But I think even Trump was surprised at just how much political spending the Democrats hid from the American people and how they enriched themselves.

Imagine that, the man who has probably more history of lawsuits of either suing or being sued than any other American in history, is replicating that behavior through more unlawful moves from the White house.

And btw regarding your claim of "Democrats hid from the American people" it should be no surprise we see GOP officials trying to stop the spending cuts in their states. I guess they wish to, how did you put it, "....enriched themselves."

Every president has a change in administrations. The only exception seems to be the people that work in the white house. It is a lot of commotion for nothing really. When people are fired then they no longer get a paycheck. That is pretty much the extent of it.
