Seems like that would give the U.S. more justification to call for something like this. I suppose we could just stop funding them until they get their house in order.
What if you are mistaken and their house is already in order and following the duly elected heads of the country?

It's estimated Hamas has 30,000 members, slightly under 1% of the Gaza population.
WOW! they send more rockets into civilian Israel on a quarterly basis than they had population!

An election is not an overthrow but it makes sense how some of you on the right have put it in your heads that they’re the same thing.
Thank you for your opinion.

If interfering with an election is just how to get things done - it makes sense how some of you on the left have put it in your heads that they should do the same thing in other countries and not call it nation building or interference.

Is this better or worse than the president of another country meeting with the leading opposition candidate in our upcoming election?
If you do cannot tell the difference between meeting with a person and trying to over throw them - I do not think I can be of illumination to you

This article is about the state. For the Fatah-controlled government body, see Palestinian National Authority. For the geographical region, see Palestine (region). For other uses, see Palestine (disambiguation).
Palestine (Arabic: فلسطين, romanized: Filasṭīn[d]), officially the State of Palestine (دولة فلسطين, Dawlat Filasṭīn),[e] is a state in the Southern Levant region of West Asia. Founded on 15 November 1988 and officially governed by the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), it claims the West Bank (including East Jerusalem) and the Gaza Strip as its territory, all of which have been Israeli-occupied territories since the 1967 Six-Day War.[6][18] The West Bank contains 165 Palestinian enclaves that are under partial Palestinian rule, but the remainder, including 200 Israeli settlements, is under full Israeli control. The Gaza Strip was governed by Egypt but conquered by Israel in 1967. Israel governed the region until it withdrew in 2005.

Just same I read.

Let Israel deal with it and leave them alone.

In my opinion.

Battalions? Squads more like.

Still, does that justify smashing flat Gaza?
The Hamas Battalions of armies used the civilians. The Hamas military stayed inside the cities, or at the very least just barely on the edge of the cities. The Hamas army should have met the Israeli army on a battlefield outside of city limits. If Hamas really, truly, and actually cared more about the Palestinian civilians than themselves, then Hamas would not have been hiding in the city.

Israel is interested in the land God has promised them. They are NOT interested in blind Biden’s “Two state” idea with the Palestinians. God is going to give Israel the land He PROMiSIED them, no matter what the blind nations think.

They're being paid 3.8 billion per year to support our policy in the Middle East. If we don't think they're doing that then we should stop paying them.

Hamas is widely supported in Gaza.
October 7 was not totally the work of Hamas. Gazan civilians followed to help commit the atrocities.
Schumer has bats in his belfry and the Democratic party should remove him as majority leader.

I’m not a geography maven but I’m pretty sure that even back in David and Solomon’s day there was a strip of land called Philistia where the Philistines dwelt.

I agree with Schumer "Nobody expects Prime Minister Netanyahu to do the things that must be done to break the cycle of violence, preserve Israel's credibility on the world stage, and work toward a two-state solution." Netanyahu has aligned himself with far-right extremists in the Israeli government. The four barriers to a two-state solution are Hamas, the Palestinian Authority, far-right extremists in the Israeli government, and Netanyahu. We have held the Israeli government to next to no accountability for years. Our corporate media is part to blame. The Israeli government has been guilty of murder, and the attitude here is criticism of Israel is Anti-Semitic. The way we treat one Israeli death compared to several Palestinians dying is ungodly. Many Christians here turn a blind eye to Israel's behavior because of their belief in Zionism. I apologize for wavering off topic, but your eschatology shapes your views, positions and sometimes behavior on current events. Christians don't want government money going to Planned Parenthood because some might be used for an abortion. But I haven't heard one Christian mention the fact we give Israel billions of tax-dollars each year unconditional, and for years the Israeli government has been funding and preforming thousands of abortions each year. Back to the specific topic, I don't believe asking for an election to elect a new leader is the same as overthrowing a government. George Bush and Dick Cheney are war criminal for what they did to Iraq. I was for them being held accountable and someone else taking Office. Thousands of innocent men, women and children have been slaughtered, and now it looks like Netanyahu not only doesn't care for a ceasefire but wants to continue with a Rafah invasion. This would farther Jeopardize a peaceful future for Israel and Palestine.

And smashing and killing civilians to get at Hamas is just making more Hamas supporters. Israel should have done this smarter, with limited surgical strike teams and limited their use of bombs. Heck, if they were nice to the civilians, they would have ratted out Hamas.

Hamas is the bad guys, but Israel is looking like the bad guys as well with their current actions.

The people of Gaza have no reason to trust Israel given current events.

what is the topic of the thread?
It appears to be a complaint that the Senate Majority Leader is in favor of “regime change” in Israel, and said so publicly, out loud.

Hamas are cowards. The Hamas soldiers hid themselves amongst civilians.
