WASHINGTON—In a sign of growing U.S. pressure on Israel over the war in Gaza, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer said Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “has lost his way” and called for Israeli elections aimed at choosing a new government.
Netanyahu is “allowing his political survival to take precedence over the best interests of Israel,” Schumer said in a speech on the Senate floor Thursday. He said Israel “cannot hope to succeed as a pariah opposed by the rest of the world.”
Netanyahu - is the duly elected Prime Minister of Israel, and American Alli - American Congressmembers have no business calling for the over throw of a government regardless of method. He has no right or authority to call for an election, regardless of the reason. This is interference in another countries government. What audacity to believe he knows what 'is best interest" for another nation. Using your position and funding to pressure another nation to do what you want is worse than quid pro quo and he should be censured and made to apologize to Israel.
