Define Sin

After reading something in another thread curious as to what you all see as the definition of SIN.

Not walking in the Spirit after the leading the Lord has given YOU. To one, drinking a glass of liquor might be a sin, if that is what God says to that particular person. To another, it wouldn't be...if that is what God says. Certainly there are some given sins...those are spelled out. But I believe there are some gray areas as well.

It's knowing in your knower what you are to do and yet idolizing your flesh instead. IMO

Sin is what Jesus set believers free from. Jesus said He who the son sets free is free indeed!

I agree.

When a person do NOT acknowledge the Holy Spirit, that is explained in Mark 3:29 "But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin." Acts 7:51 "You stiff-necked people, with uncircumcised hearts and ears! You are just like your fathers: You always resist the Holy Spirit!"

Sin is built into us from birth, it is the one thing that separates us from God. It is the one thing that caused the need for a sacrifice, and ultimately the perfect sacrifice Jesus Christ.

I think we need to remember that Sin Breaks Gods Heart...

To understand how all-encompassing The Great Exchange truly was, you have to realize that the word sin there does not just refer to what we'd normally think of as religious errors. It includes everything in our lives that falls short of the glory and perfection of God's original design (see Romans 3:23).

thanks for the responses, the reason I asked was this phrase from an earlier post sort of leapt out at me. Its using this example to explain why healing is part of the cross.
Now I believe God heals and does today, Still not 100% sure of the old phia thingy. but did find this statement quite challenging.
