CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

(Which is a dinky little town just off IH-10 on US290 in West Texas, about 50 miles to the east of Fort Stockton; which, as my partner and I passed through it while getting gas for our car, made me ask, "What does one DO if you're gay and you're growing up in Sheffield, Texas?")

I think my sense of humor is appropriate on this topic.
I can think of no worse situation or suffering than hell and to mock it is insensitive to those who will burn. Friends, family- people I have known and cared about may be in there.
If your child were seriously burned in a car wreck and was in a burn unit and someone started a fun thread mocking your child's suffering- maybe you would think differently.

assuming hell is real, why not make fun of it and everyone that will burn there?
sure right now it saddens you, but i'm sure as you walk in the gates of heaven with st. peter waiting to take your name, and seeing the saints and Jesus walking around and the glory and majesty of the Father right there in front of you, you with your new body on and everything, the last thing you'd remember is your family members burning and rotting away in hell.

and to answer your question... I seriously doubt that I would ever walk through the gates of heaven if I had the mindset of one who spent his life lauphing at his family members who were burning and rotting in hell.

Only an ogre would scoff at the plight of those who are bitten by vampires in the vineyard. Why doesn't our town have a slayer?

Or else Lucifer is gonna cook me up like a S'more and eat me alive while poking me with a pitchfork. Actually, from my perspective, being devoured by Lucy Fur sounds kinda kinky... like a lesbian bondage scene.

although there are good psychiatrists who can help people differentiate between true evil that exists in this world and the mythological hells that we've created to asuage our own guilt and feed our own passions for retribution.
