This is my personal standard that I try to use - would I say the words I plan to say with the tone and attitude that I plan to use if Yeshua was standing next to me? So that's my approach.

Good guideline. This is my personal standard that I try to use - would I say the words I plan to say with the tone and attitude that I plan to use if Yeshua was standing next to me?
How much time do you who publicly criticize others spend praying for those you consider "false teachers"? You might find God telling you it's you who are believing false doctrines, not them.
Hmm.. So after 2 weeks and 25 posts, you've determined what "trends" there are here? Who are you again?
In any event, in the thread mentioned, someone posted an anonymously sourced photograph from the blog of an alternative newspaper and claimed that it was representative of the state of all of western Christianity. That's hardly the same thing as warning people about false teaching. It is, however, a prime example of the confirmation bias prevalent in many people.
Agreed - provided we should do it like Jesus did.
Did He ever bring the subject up again? Did He spend day after day going into specifics - which Pharisee did He name? Did Jesus tell this to the multitudes? Did Jesus travel about saying BEWARE! BEWARE!?
If you are going to support a position based on Scripture, please be prepared to follow the example as Jesus did.

Amen. I do also.Quite a bit and quite often. They are always on my mind and I have a real burden for them and those they are currently dragging into hell with themselves.
I also constantly pray that my doctrine be correct and that I would be shown in what areas I'm missing the mark.
This has been part of my prayer life for a number of years now.
Good point. The heart of God is the key.I like that - I think you captured the heart of God there.
This is OnlyByGrace84. He joined about a year and a half ago. He's mentioned this recently.
Some might say so would be the quick dismissal without evidence by many others. I called it eye-opening and the uncovering of local idolaters.
Besides, the photo wasn't anonymous. You just didn't put any effort into looking into it as I did.
Just because I didn't willingly share all info, doesn't mean it wasn't available with the tiniest bit of effort for anyone who cared to find out (like me).
I didn't see that, so thank you.
Whatever you want to tell yourself.
That's simply a lie. You have absolutely no idea how much effort I put into "looking into it". I searched the web and freely posted links to everything I found as I always do. I think people should be able to examine things for themselves, and so I hold nothing back. Everything I did find pointed back to the OC Weekly blog "navel gazing" by Gustavo Arellano, which attributed the photo to "a source of mine." Maybe in your book that's not anonymous, but "a source of mine" doesn't tell me squat about the source.
Well unlike you, I don't have an agenda here, so I have no problem freely sharing all of the info I find.
On that note, here is what I did find in addition to the OC Weekly navelgazing blog, which ALL of these reference in some way as their source;
Paul Crouch Flips Off TBN Cameras in Jerusalem!
The Museum of Idolatry: Paul Crouch Flips Off TBN Cameras in Jerusalem?
Reformed Anglicanism: Paul Crouch Flips Off TBN Cameras in Jerusalem?
Paul Crouch flips the bird : News, Politics & Current Affairs • Rational Skepticism Forum
Kosher Satellite Radio Breaking News: Paul Crouch Flips Off TBN Cameras in Jerusalem!
TBN’S PAUL CROUCH FLIPPING OFF HIS CRITICS? : Apprising Ministries
Not one of those says where the photo came from (although the Apprising Ministries site attempts to say it came from Daystar Television, in not so many words, despite the fact they have nothing to base this allegation upon), and all of them reference Mr. Arellano's blog as their source, which also doesn't share the source of the photo beyond saying "a source of mine".
I've already wasted more than enough time "looking into" this, but I won't hold my breath waiting for you to actually post the source of the photo.
Ok so something of a trend around here is when someone mentions another person by name and if that said person has nothing nice said about them, then it is immediately referred to as gossip. This thread may offend or upset someone, but the purpose is to generate godly discussion about a topic that is all too prevelant in congregations today.
What is gossip?
In a recent thread about a well known Christian TV "Evangelist" and Station owner/host, accusations of gossip flew left and right, but is warning others about the misdeeds of another or even false teaching really gossip? Observe:
Matthew 16:5-12
When they went across the lake, the disciples forgot to take bread. “Be careful,” Jesus said to them. “Be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.”
They discussed this among themselves and said, “It is because we didn’t bring any bread.”
Aware of their discussion, Jesus asked, “You of little faith, why are you talking among yourselves about having no bread? Do you still not understand? Don’t you remember the five loaves for the five thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? Or the seven loaves for the four thousand, and how many basketfuls you gathered? How is it you don’t understand that I was not talking to you about bread? But be on your guard against the yeast of the Pharisees and Sadducees.” Then they understood that he was not telling them to guard against the yeast used in bread, but against the teaching of the Pharisees and Sadducees.
If telling/warning other people about a certain person and their teaching or behavior is gossip then Jesus Himself gossiped. Proof as above. Actually this story is told in all three Synoptic Gospels and so I would point out it must be of some importance then to warn others about certain people if their lives, teachings, ministries do not line up with the Word of God. Jesus did it, so should we.
No lies, but I'm glad to see you did do a bit of work after the fact.
You can think anything you wish about my "agenda", but I've been quite open about my disdain and the unwillingness to fight for the abomination that is TBN. It's not like I've ever hidden that fact or anything like that and I'll continue to post these things as they come up.
Still, it was a very eye-opening thread to see all the knee-jerk reaction. Thank you for your participation in that as well.
I wonder why I get a knee-jerk reaction and outrage from a Crouch middle finger, but when I posted links to an active lawsuit from a crouch granddaughter claiming when she was around 13, while the was on a TBN fundraising trip, she was raped by a TBN staffer and her grandparents actively covered it up, I got nothing. Priorities of the masses I suppose.

It is good to seek understanding on things such as these because we want to walk in holiness and in the fear of the Lord in all things. If telling/warning other people about a certain person and their
teaching or behavior is gossip then Jesus Himself gossiped.
