Christian forums does not acknowledge Mormons as Christians. I am a Mormon, and a Christian. Wikipedia defines Christianity as the following:
"Christianity is a religion centered on the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth Christians believe Jesus to be the Son of God and the Messiah prophesied in the Old Testament and they see the Old Testament as the record of the Gospel that was Revealed by Jesus. "

Mormonism couldn't be closer to this definition. Why does CF deny Mormons this?

Sorry, but the correct definition of Christianity does not belong to Wikipedia, it belongs to God. Even though the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints follows many of the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, they do not follow ALL THE TEACHINGS of Jesus of Nazareth.

The Bible warns each of us to: Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves.

To be a true Christian you must believe ALL of what Jesus taught and ALL of the doctrines of the true Christian faith.

Without going into all of the doctrines, Mormons are disqualified to be called Christians upon the following and this is not a complete list, but just enough to prove LDS and Jehovah's Witness and others who claim to follow Jesus, but are following a different Jesus then is found in the Bible.

1. There is only ONE GOD, without beginning, without end. There are no others!!! There are no head of the Gods or council of the Gods.

2. God is a Trinity. God the Father, God the Son(Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit.

3. Jesus is GOD the Son, without beginning and without end. Jesus is the Creator and one day will be your Judge.

It has been said:

If you have the "right" Jesus Christ you are "right" for all eternity. If you believe in the "wrong" Jesus Chriist you will be "wrong" for all eternity.

No matter what YOU call yourself, if you do not believe and teach those three simple statements listed above, YOU ARE NOT TRUE CHRISTIAN.

You and others are what the Bible warned about would appear in the last days.

I Timothy 4: 1-2 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron.

Sorry to be so blunt, but LDS and JW are totally outside the true faith and are in danger of eternal separation from God and Jesus.

Yes, one who follows Christ and biblical teaching. Since the Bible is the Word of God - this is the teachings christians follow and no other book.

Mormons follow the Book of Mormon - this isn't the Word of God. The Bible says not to subtract or add from it- Galations 1:8.

Check Deut: 4:2 That does not mean that everything after this passage is not scripture. And, who are we to tell God to stop talking to us?

Hi, Can't go by Wikipedia cause they don't even have the essense of Christianity at all.

Belief in Jesus Christ, that he died for our sins and was resurrected. That all who believe in him (in the days since Christ will be saved.)

That is the essence.

Though many come in different ways than the gospel I shared above. I certainly did. Paul also did, as did the thief, and Thomas.

The Holy Spirit indwells us guaranteing our salvation. Eph.

Then we we come to Christ we turn from sin (not all sin because sin is alway in us, and we will continue to sin all our lives.)

We grow as we read the bible and learn more of God. We know that Jesus is God and Messiah. Some many know this before coming to Christ, some don't. We know the Holy Spirit is God,and we know the Father is God. One God in 3 persons.

We are commanded to do things in the bible. We strive all our lives to do so; depending on the person's walk where he/she is with God and their understanding et.

Further once in Christ, we do 'good works' This can be any thing. for one it may be prayer, where only God knows. Such as these will be called the greatest in the kingdom as did not recieve man's praise in any way. not that other works are for man's praise, but many times we do recieve man's praise. So, it's those that we aren't even aware of who I believe will be called greatest in God's Kingdom, not that it matters.

When I speak of God's Kingdom I am speaking about heaven in the future. I am not speaking of the present.

So Jesus and the other teachers in teh bible gives us ways to grow in Christ.

We all fail and fall short of the glory of God.

There is no one who does not fail.

Anway, hope that helps.

The answer to your question is, Jesus.

Would you agree that we should both want to know the Father and do what He wants us to do?

Your answer makes no sense.
I do Agree we should know the Father, and do what he wants us to do.

Hi, since Christ is central to Christianity, not sure what further can be provided.

I and the Father are One. (jesus said)
no one comes to the Father but by me (Jesus said)

your question was about Christiany and Christ is central here; so not sure of your reply to above poster, seems a sideline?

Why should I study the false when I have already found the TRUTH!!!

Besides this forum is not a debate forum, you asked why Mormons are not considered Christian and I offered my opinion.

To be a Christian, you MUST ACCEPT AND BELIEVE certain fundamental doctrines. All TRUE Christians do. To deny any would be to jeopadize whether truely "saved" or not. Regardless of everthing else.

We may have a differences of opinion concerning other issues thus the many denominations, but ALL the mainstream doctrines are commonly accepted and believed by true Christians.

I do not accept anyone as a TRUE believer who does not accept or believe even one of the fundamental doctrines regardless of what church or denomination he attends. Even if he were seated next to me at my church. I would not attend any church that did not teach as truth these same fundamental doctrines.

The one common area where groups such as LDS or JW differ from true Christians is in area of who Jesus really is.

LDS and JW both say JESUS IS A CREATED BEING...that's enough to disqualify both as outside CHRISTIANITY, not just mainstream Christianity.

To ask anyone to abandon TRUE CHRISTIANITY for a lie is to deny Jesus.

You said to someone to "TEACH YOU". Sorry until you show a spirit of wanting to learn what Christianity teaches with sincerity and not debate, there is no point in further dealing with you.
