I was wondering if someone could tell me if the following are types of churches or a religion?

Apologetics
Calvanist
Protestant
Pentacostal
AOG
Coptic

I've heard of these before but not often enough to know exactly what they are.

"Apologetics" means explaining Christianity to non-Christians (see this page)

"Protestant" means pretty much all Christians who are not Orthodox or Roman Catholic. The main Christian groups are (from www.adherents.com):

• Roman Catholic (1 billion Christians)
• Eastern Orthodox (250 million Christians)
• Anglican Communion (75 million Christians)
• Ethiopian Orthodox Church (very old Church in Ethiopia -- 35 million Christians)
• Assemblies of God (AOG) and other Pentecostal Churches (50 million Christians)
• Southern Baptist Convention (15 million Christians)
• Coptic Church (very old Church in Egypt -- 10 million Christians)
• Lutheran Churches (40 million Christians)
• Reformed and Presbyterian (Calvinist) Churches (20 million Christians)

Apologetics involves clearing away stumbling blocks to faith, and answering objections that people may have to Christianity. This is mentioned in 1 Peter 3:15 -

Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.

Apologetics is not a group. It is as defined by Radagast and StAnslem.

And Calvanist, Protestant, Pentecostal, AOG (Assemblies of God) and Coptic are some of the different groups existing in Christendom today due to differences in interpretation of the Holy Bible.

Thank you so much for clarifying things for me. These things all seem probably pretty common to mature christians but I am new to all of this and have a hard time understanding things when I do not know the meanings of things. So, once again for the links and definations it was very helpful.
