By the makers of Uplink (the hacker sim), it poses a what-if scenario of the US and USSR going to war.
There's 5 different DEFCON levels. At each level more and more options are available to you. It starts out at 5, where you just start mobilizing your forces, and slowly progresses to DEFCON 3, where actual fighting begins, and finally to DEFCON 1. It is at 1 where you start sending nukes at each other. 2 points for every million you kill, -1 for every million you lose.
Launching nukes though, exposes your silo to the rest of the world for retaliation so timing is incredibly important.
The game can be played in real-time (8 hours, perfect for work, there's an office mode too) or you can play it sped up to 45 minutes, or the ADHD mode in 15 minutes.
You can play with up to 6 players as well.
