Leaders on both sides of the political aisle reacted to reports of the U.S. Secret Service firing at a man with an AK-style rifle near the Trump International Golf Club in Florida believed to have been planning to assassinate former President Donald Trump.

During a joint press conference with the FBI and Secret Service officials, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw of Palm Beach shared that an agent spotted the muzzle of the rifle and fired shots at the gunman on Sunday. According to Bradshaw, the shooter was between 300 to 500 yards away from the former president.

Authorities identified Ryan Wesley Routh as the gunman. The suspect has been chargedwith federal gun crimes. Authorities are working to determine a potential motive.

Maybe he thinks Donald Trump is a fascist and a threat to democracy and liberty? Kind of like what the Left constantly says all the time.
It doesn't take long for right wingers to start blaming the left.

The guy voted for Trump in 2016. He wanted to go to the Ukraine to fight against Russian aggression but couldn't get in. Trump's siding with Putin angered him and he turned against him.

Trump is NOT siding with Russia. Please don't repeat the tired lie coming from the leftist mainstream media and the Democratic Party leadership.

So did he do anything wrong by attempting to kill a fascist?

I'm kind of not seeing a denial here. If Trump is as dangerous as the Left claims what have his assassins done wrong?

Hmmm. Could this be because the man has, without question and you know this, challenged the legitimacy of a democratic election.

I do not see that you guys have anywhere to go on this - how do Mr Trump's actions in attempting to overturn the 2020 election not constitute a clear threat to democracy? Please address this question directly, no rhetorical evasions, no "whataboutisms", etc.

Does questioning election results make one a threat to democracy? Still it seems what these would be assassins are attempting to do is actually good. Certainly that was the sentiment of many leftists.

Why would you be opposed to killing a threat to democracy?

Does questioning election results make one a threat to democracy?
Yes, if one repeatedly challenges in the absence of any evidence whatsoever. And worse, tries to pressure government officials to "find 11,000 votes" for him. Again, there is nowhere to go on this issue for you guys.
Why would you be opposed to killing a threat to democracy?
Is this a serious question? I have simply stated the fact that Mr Trump is a threat to democracy. How does it follow that I want to have him killed? I happen to think Taylor Swift is a clear and present threat good quality music, but I certainly do not want to see her killed.

So one is not allowed to do this in a democracy?

Is democracy worth spilling the blood of tyrants?

This is crazy talk that some are willing to kill an x president and current presidential candidate for any reason. Do you realise what that would do to the US. Its beginning to sound like Venezuela.

So what happens when someone kills Trump. What happens to half the population who support Trump. What about their democratic rights. The Left may think Trump is a threat to democracy but isn't that what the Right think of the Left.

Message to the Left, half the population disagrees with you that Trumps a threat to democracy. Are you now saying that half the population is a threat to democracy. That you hold them in such low esteem to you disregard their political rights.

Does that mean every time an opposition percieves someone is a threat we kill them. What a crazy and unreal state of affairs American politics has degraded into. I think the US has already lost democracy with the current state of affairs never mind Trump.

Apparently the Gov of Florida is also asking the State DA to find out the exact extent of criminal activity in this case because it is not logical to assume that the current justice department that is trying to jail the Republican candidate for president , is going to be fair-and-balanced when it comes to investigating those snipers that try to take his life.

Would be nice to know the full extent that the extreme-left media and politicians played in pushing the unstable gunman over the edge.
