CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok I realize that the Pope is NOT Deep Throat. Just a little joke. But it was a real news story that Deep Throat is ill. According to the news, the journalists promised to keep his (or I guess it could be a her) identity secret until he died. What I don't know is how they know Deep Throat is ill if they don't know who he is. Surely those who know wouldn't leak that info. Who knows? Like I said it could be a big rumor, but definitely something interesting to ponder.

It's hard to fathom that he/she would release the illness story.....and then stop. And then my cynical mind kicks in and starts to piece it all together....

Bob Woodward is the reporter who got all the information from "Deep Throat."
However, he is not the person who leaked the fact that Deep Throat is now ill. That information was leaked by the person who has already written the obituary, and is the only other person who knows who Deep Throat is.
The person who leaked the fact of illness, is the editor of the Washington Post, at the time of the story, I believe.

Anyone ever see that movie about the two dog-walking highschool girls who are (collectively) deepthroat?... I saw it a couple of years ago but I seem to remember finding it pretty funny.
