• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone else have a terrible time making decision? I think it is part of the OCD but it is so annoying and, at times, paralyzing. Last week I was trying to decide which winter coat to buy. I bought one now all I can think is "I made the wrong decision." But I know if I returned it and got the other coat I would think the exact same thing. I definitely feel like my mind plays tricks on me. To make matters worse, sometimes I end up getting angry with God because I have such a messed up mind. I know that is arrogant...it's just how I feel sometimes.

Yes, I have this too. Mainly because I am afraid to make the wrong decision. I have the scrupulous form of OCD (as well as I have had other forms too) so add that with depression I have and it does make it hard to make a decision at times. What I have found that I need to do is just make a decision and not worry too much about it after that. I think the indecisiveness just makes OCD worse in many circumstances.

I can relate. Am often sweating it out whether something I'm doing might be God's will or not. The cost of disobedience in my life has been high at times, so I'm often trying to get a read on His will... but it's not always clear. I can relate to the getting angry part, but I think that could be a part of the mental illness.
