Decided finally

To go with divorce. I talked with my pastor today about it, and he agrees with me that Mat isn't doing anything whatsoever about it himself, will most likely not do anything either, so I might as well get it done with myself if I want to get it done. It's been 8 months since we separated. My pastor has a friend who is a notary, and is gonna ask information about it from him, cause I have no idea how to do it. I'm also gonna have to save up the money, so it'll take a while, plus the time to process the papers. I'm just glad that a decision is made so that I can start moving forward again.
Lol, just had a funny thought, if I started up a "Chocolatesa's divorce fund" to raise money for it lol.
I wonder what Mat'll think when he gets the papers in the mail.
I'm looking forward to having this done and over with now.

I have just read your original posts. I apologise for not doing it earlier.

It is clear you have been through a very rough time. I want to encourage you to be gentle with yourself and take all the time you need to heal. I am so glad you have a caring pastor who is supporting you spiritually and practically. I'm also glad that you are making decisions for your own well being and I pray you will find the closure and peace you desire.

I also recommend taking time to heal and grow with God and friends before embarking on any intimate relationships. It is hard but there is much to learn from being alone with God and learning to be complete with him, rather than looking for a man to fill you up.

There is an informative course called 'Divorce Care' that might help you work through all this. I found it very helpful. Not everything will apply to you but much will. A lot of churches run it, it's very cheap and you can find the info on the net. Just google it.

You are a precious, beautiful daughter of the Almighty God. He loves you and has wonderful plans for you. Your future is secure in him. Jer 29:11

Thanks I'll look into that Divorce Care. I agree that I need to not jump into the arms of the first guy I meet, but I need to learn patience and self-discipline! Already that I haven't dated anyone for 8 months is something for me though, before Mat it had been about 5 years since I had spent more than 2 days single.

About the $$$. Depending on what the grounds are for the divorce, you may be able to talk to an attorney at no cost and petition the court to require your soon-to-be-ex to pay your attorney's fees.

I've seen it done before. Your mileage may vary.

Thanks, I'll look into that. He doesn't have a red cent himself I beleive, but that's not the problem.

He doesn't have to have any money. The court can just decide to require him to pay.
