  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ever deal with them? I'm so frustrated at this point. I'm transferring to a new school so that I can be home with my family. The problem I'm running into is that they've basically lied to me. The first off lied about the amount of credits, the way they made it sound it was 28 credits to be in the advanced program plus some other classes. What they failed to mention was that those were in addition to another major they make you major in. It seemed funny, but nothing i read on their site said anything else. I found this out when I went to register for classes. The other problem is that they have it set up so that you have to follow their program exactly (which takes forever). They don't offer other classes so that you have to follow their track exactly. They told me classes may not be offered at their campus, but that I could go to a different campus for them, well they aren't at any campus.... I'm so frustrated at this point.

My parents are pretty much already mad at me for moving home, but I truly felt it's what God wanted me to do. I don't know how to tell them about this mess up with school, I know they'll blame me, and maybe it is my fault, but still. I'm now considering switching to the 2 year program and then trying for vet school, but that's not going to work very well either because then I'm taking classes for no point. I'm not sure if I can only go part time without having to pay back my loans yet because I'm not in a job situation where I can afford it at the moment. I just want to finish school... and i've been feeling God nudging me toward vet school since i gave it up... I guess I'm just so frustrated with the whole school situation and my parents not being supportive and I don't know how to bring it up to them, but I would love their advice on how to fix the situation...

Ideas guys? Would it be better to switch to the 2 year program, see if it's possible for me to go half time, then i would have a job to support me through vet school. In some ways I would just switch to studying for getting into vet school, but that isn't possible with how late in the summer it is, I don't think it's possible to get into another school...

Ok, I'm sorry this is so long and rambling.

It wouldn't hurt to check around for other schools. A friend of mine has been in a similar situation the past week. Him and his girlfriend have searched around for a school to go to the past year where he can play baseball and both can get a good Biblical education. They found a good one, but got there last week and found out they had been lied to about scholarships, financial aid, housing, etc... They decided to come back home and God provided a solution almost immediately with a completely unexpected offer from another school they'd been considering.
