DEBATE: what does it mean .....

Does it mean we speak from are hearts
does it mean we speak and let our words just fall wherever they go
does it mean we speak to try and prove our points
does it mean were just debating for the fun of it
does it mean I am debating just to cause ruckess and discourage the person
does it mean Just letting God flow through us to touch peoples lives
does it mean eventually I will get the person to my way of thinking and ways
does it mean help I just need advice
does it mean I just want to make friends
does it mean I am bored and have nothing else to do so here I am
Please this is interesting to me and would like everyones opinion on christian forums .... God Bless

to debate is really a discussion to become of one mind with God. (at least a debate of christian discussion).

remember, there is only one truth regardless of what we are debating. If i have a viewpoint, and you have a different viewpoint, we cannot both be right. ONe of us is either wrong, or we're both wrong, and we learn to find that meeting point where there is just one truth.

to debate, to me, is to find that one truth, to be of one mind with God's word.

This is where you may be mistaken. Such rules of logic do apply to the natural world, but not to the supernatural, which is the ultimate object of this discussion.

Applying logic to the supernatural is a dangerous game for any person of faith. It would require a predecessor to God, nullify the concept of the Trinity, make an omnipotent being and free will mutually exclusive, etc. etc. etc.

The definition of the supernatural is to transcend the rules of logic, the laws of physics, and any other limitation we can conjure up. So, when it somes to the supernatural, we could all simultaneously be right and wrong.
