• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Distraction!! It's a Godsend! Post, read, listen to Christian music, pray, if it's chronic, see a doctor! You may have a hormonal imbalance that can be treated. If it's life-disrupting, seek counseling once the doctor has cleared you physically. Get active physically so you are physically tired. Get busy intellectually so your mind is occupied. Great question...you're in the right place. God hears your prayers. I am praying for you.

im learning how to run from temptation. ill exercise, go outside, take a shower, hear gospel music, or be around people. now, when im completely alone and tempted, it gets harder to run from the temptation. if u have to cry it out, that helps to. God knows ur struggles and your pain when u are tempted. thats your chance to show Him that ur trusting Him to make a way of escape. i struggle with sexual temptations all the time. God is helping me in this area. i hope i helped in some way.

If you are a teenager, you are going to have the urge occasionally, hormones are funny that way. My way to get around it is to brew a cup of tea or coffee when the feeling hits. It takes time to do it right and by the time I'm finished and getting ready to enjoy it, the urge passes.
