Dealing with marital problems and the prospect of divorce as one nears 50...

Anyone experience this situation? How does one even prepare for it?

I pray my marriage doesn't come to this, but, we have been through so much and I'm not sure we can get through this.

Thoughts and advice would be appreciated. I'm sure we all believed that "I will only get married once"

In my experience, communication is the key. Usually when things go wrong, it is because people do not communicate, they keep everything bottled up inside hoping things will fix themselves but this is seldom the case. A good relationship requires effort from both sides. Respect and also doing things that makes the other happy is important. You guys need to talk things over in a friendly way without reproach to one another. I cannot comment further as there is no details but wish you guys well.
