G4m-
I agree that God calls us to love everyone, but I do not agree that God loves everyone. The Bible says that God hated Esau. Please explain how this doesn't mean what is clearly says?
So in reality (even because of ignorance) we are called to have a higher standard of love than God?

We are called to love everyone because we have no idea who IS and who is NOT a child of God. We don't know who the elect are, and therefore we should love everyone and not risk hating a brother. God however, knows the hearts of everyone. Because he is HOLY, he can NOT love the UNHOLY.
Just because God made some to be objects of wrath doesn't neglect from the end result. We are all loved and all precious to God and His plan.
Romans 9
22 What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
He's just not going to make anyone suffer forever:
Isaiah 57
16 For I will not contend for ever, neither will I be always wroth: for the spirit should fail before me, and the souls which I have made.
yet the wicked will not rest:
Isaiah 57
20 But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt.
21 There is no peace, saith my God, to the wicked.

Let me make sure I understand. You are arguing that because God is love:
1) God loves everyone without exception
2) God loves everything without exception
If this is true, then it follows:
1) God loves Satan, all those that will perish in hell, all breakers of his law, those who delight in evil (they are included in the everyone category).
2) God loves sin, death, suffering of the righteous (these are included in the everything catagory).
Is this what you are arguing? Or can you admit that there are some things that God does not love?
1. Correct
2. These things are ultimately within God's plan for good, otherwise He'd destroy them all now. Or don't you think He can?

Here is my point:
God is the only holy and perfect being. His perfection extends to include a perfect justice. He can only approve and love that which is perfect and holy, in short Himself! Nothing outside of God is worthy of God's love!
God's idea of true justice:
Zechariah 7
8 And the word of the LORD came unto Zechariah, saying,
9 Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Execute true judgment, and shew mercy and compassions every man to his brother:
10 And oppress not the widow, nor the fatherless, the stranger, nor the poor; and let none of you imagine evil against his brother in your heart.
God is just:
Matthew 5
1 And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him:
2 And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying,
3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
In the end all the suffering is balanced out, otherwise its not just. Someone suffering forever is not just, is not fair, and is so plainly unbalanced...

How then can God love some men if all are sinful? Simple. Jesus' shed blood. God Himself declares that some are to be saved. Even though they are not perfect, they are MADE perfect by the blood of Jesus!
This is a truth you seem to be missing. God alone is worthy of our praise. God alone has all the glory!
May God so bless us all.
1 John 2
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
But you will say even though God has the power, desire, will and resolve to save all men, He just won't...
