Dealing with doubt...

Over the last few weeks i have come across some serious doubts as to whether or not my faith is real. I find myself asking was Jesus the son of God, is there even a God at all?! In my time as a Christian i have never felt doubt like this.

I've been praying a lot that God would some how reveal his self to me but as of yet ive seen nothing I desperatly want to believe and don't want to lose my faith over something so stuipid as this. If it is true that prayer has strong power, then i pray for some way round this.

I think that God has revealed Himself in a flower, or the way our bodies are put together. With such detailed and beautiful displays all around you, how could you wonder? People have lost their whole lives delving into the life of the honeybee, or tides of the ocean to try to understand it all. There are miracles all around you. Just open your eyes. Not to mention that His book that was made to report the life and death of Jesus Christ. Not many non-fiction books last as long as that one. I feel confident that you will, sooner or later, find yourself face-to-face with your answer.

Hmm perhaps thats a good representation of how i should be looking at things. Unfortunately i am a little short on seeing miracles right now

I'm sure not giving up on anything though, i'll read my bible to death and seek God from as many different angles as i can.

This problem happens to most Christians who are exposed to non-Christian sources.As you wrote,you "came across some serious doubts"You need to stay away from the source of these doubts.Even if it takes a radical change in your life.When you are exposed to anti-Christian information,you never should mentally wallow around in it.Most people need to take out their trash thoughts on a daily basis.Some people need to empty their trash several times an hour.On a positive side,you'll find that if you just do this one simple thing you're faith will increase amazingly:listen to nothing but Christian radio.Too boring? Sometimes but it will greatly increase your faith and knowledge.On your computer you can listen to WMSJ which is the best Christian station I've ever heard.It's all music and anything but boring.If you go to their website,you'll find their super quality stero player for you're computer.

Your request that God reveal Himself to you is a good prayer that in time He will answer.When it comes,it will change your life.But do not expect an answer while you're playing around in a junk yard of disbelief.If you want to meet God, go looking for Him.

Everyone's faith waivers at some point(s) in life, so don't lose heart. God IS with you! Open the bible everyday if only for a little while. Look something up that you need help with, or have a question in your heart, and let the pages fall where they may. My prayers are with you. Keep praying, be patient and mindful, and listen. May your heart be open that the Spirit may re-direct you, and bring you truth and comfort.

your first qustion is wheather or not your faith was real or not .

im Guessing that u are speaking of the haveing the faith in the faith of an invesable God that can be involved in our daily lives .

well he is quite real in mine , but i think u mean why is he not real in your own .

u are having problems in faith. i can under stand nobody is willing to belive in a lie and u would want some fact of one sort or a nother

befor i get in to this it is impossable to please God with out faith.( forgets verse sorry) :

Heb 11.1 points out:

"faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evdance of things unseen "

u are having troubble with the having faith in an "invesible" being .
well dont go athist yet , more than 3/4 of the world belives in some thing . and i add what complacion would there be in faith if we Could see him every day .

but i under stand what u mean , but i, not so much shur if it is faith in your daily walk or more like u have been hendderd so that u have not wittnesed him move in your life for a long time .

for me , befor august of this year i could not Feel see touch know of be around i did not even know if i was still part of the famile i was like that for 2yrs stright , before that i felt God in every aspect of my life ! but it did not matter i saw How Jesus heald other ppl and saved other ppl and i know how he was in my life so i kept looing for him .and in short i did not give up for 2yrs and worshiped and praized him just as if he were pulsing threw my vains - thow his abscnce i knew was not there and about augest He spoke to a woman in my church consering me and said he was gona heal me and he has , slowly but shurly.

now i take in to consideration that u may have never seen God move in your life
witch is a diffrnet problem complealty . but i doubt that , secondly aslo that , if u have not seen God ever move in your life , dose not make u a non christian . you are just as saved to day as u were yesterday .

secondly u asked wheater or not Jesus is the son of God or not . and u less u are a Jew who choosess to ingore that Jesus was and is the son of God who elts has made any such claimes . not me
there are many verse in the bible that point To Jesus being the Son of God , there are man yof the in Iziah , but i am far form my bible not so i can not give them to u .

3rdly u asked weather or not there was a God or not. and so long as u dont ask an athist they will say YES , your asking me to give u a peice of mesurable matter thow.and well im a little short on that right now .

but i dont think any one comtemplates the existiance of God with out other qustions leading up 2 or other things saying That God dose not exist , witch he dose

so if your thoughts are logic i will be happie to try to refute them , if they are emotional we can talk abotu them

as an added note , i was away with some ppl and ( hear is the storie ) 2 christians walked on the boat ( crusie ship) and only 1 chrsitian walked off , i did all i could , but she kept lissiong to a gurl i know who we met there that was a wicca -hard core adn she kept infulancing her - BADLY !!! one gulr came to me for help the other did not want to talk about it . the other renouced her faith in spite of my best actions

Thanks for all you who have been praying, im more gratefull than you could know. Over the last few days i have realised that the existance of the planet surely is proof that God exists.

I think my faith problem was caused by 3 or so things.

The first being that i hang around with a lot of non christians which can be really hard. Especially when they express there view on God. But i dont think the answer is to leave them. I can see oppurtunities to invite them to be saved, and hope that i can get the chance soon.

The second being that i'd never based my faith on any facts at all. I know that there has to be more than just 'facts' to faith and believing in God, but i believe there has to be at least some basis on it. I'd always been brought up as a Christian and only in the last few months had i given myself completely to God. The way i see it is that God has seen my take this step and the time for testing has come about. So i went back and dug up some facts. The facts were very pleasing and i found out the bible is practically the most reliable book of facts there has ever been

As for the last, well that was my fault. When i split up with my girlfriend I was angry at God. I blamed him for the breakup and untill recently still have been. The problem in the end was that i loved her much more than i loved God. When i got to the stage that i very nearly went to far, everything fell apart. I can see now that God had meant this to happen because he only wants me to be closer to him.

So thanks again guys, although ive still got a long way to go, things are certainly improving and i hope to be back on track as soon as i can

I just want to give you some encouragement, I think at sometime or another in our journey we will all question things, the important thing is that you never quit trying.
I have had some strange doubts lately too, and I always think of the scripture that says to "test the spirits" if one denies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God that is not a spirit from God, this could be what you are experiencing, so you just pray in the name of Jesus repeating to yourself what you KNOW to be TRUTH, and that is that Jesus IS the Son of God, he came from God, lived as a man, and died only to RISE again and save us from our wretched sin.....Don't get too discouraged, and don't lose heart in doing good, because in due time you will recieve your reward...God Bless

It is good to see that He has brought you through this valley. Always seek Him and He will be there. You may not always fell it. But He will hold You up.

I don't want to bring you down, but you will encounter occasionally even longer periods of time when You doubt. But He is always faithful. Be faitful to Him, even when it sometimes feels that He isn't there. Stay faithful.

I will keep You in my prayers. I just ask that You do the same for me.

Thanks again for all your posts + prayers, its a great feeling to know that somebody cares.

I can really feel your prayers working, its like some strange peace has come over me in the last few days.

Stress has been getting on top of me a lot at the momment. So i just pray that i remember God through all this. I seem to be coming to a greater understanding each day though, which is great. This seems to be turning into a positive experience!

Protestant minister thanks for the info on the radio station. Its quite good even if its a bit low quality

Just to let you all know my faith is back to how it always has been now
I've finally got the fire back and once again im living for God.

I don't know what did it really if i was to guess i'd probably put it down to prayer.
