  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

*smile* Such hypocrisy. Anyone who believes Osama Bin Laden and a few members of his group from a rag tag country were able to circumvent the whole of the entire US intelligence and military apparatus to perpretrate this act is a conspiratist...and I might add...a little naive. The only difference being *who* the conspiracy lies with. The official story doled out to the US public is a conspiracy theory. A conspiracy theory that beggers belief, honestly.

Edit: And, I might add...justifies wars of aggression and MURDER supported by good Jesus loving, Christian folk. I want to gag a thousand times over.
you've got to be kidding.

i have some anti-psychotic pills you're welcome to any time, bro.

What, we can't talk about 9/11? A lot of people believe it was an inside job. A lot more than I expected. :| I don't have an opinion on the matter, though.

And FTR, the only thing I don't like about appreciating the Holocaust is that it's all about Jews. Homosexuals, Slavs, Gypsies, and the mentally ill were also killed in monstrous numbers. But somehow it's still all about guilt from the Holocaust that allows Israel to continue to abuse human rights while we continue to pump millions of dollars that without batting an eye.

That just bothers me....they haven't woke up yet.

This thread is like going down the rabbit hole.... but much less fun and no tea and crumpets at the end.

My deal breakers:

-Believer (follower of Christ, Christian, born again, saved, blah blah, insert whatever title makes you happy)

-Non smoker (health issues for me)

-Loves/wants kids

-Loves my family (if you can love my family, dealing with me should be a breeze :D)

Unbeliever (obviously!)
Smokes (actually in all of earth's history, no person smokes; the cigarette does the smoking. The person who uses them is just the sucker! LOL!)
Drinks (I don't mean one who doesn't drink any alcohol but one who just can't stop! I should say 'a drunkard'.)
Doesn't respect women
Doesn't take me seriously
Doesn't respect my boundaries in the bedroom
Doesn't like kids
Doesn't mind being a polygamist
Doesn't see anything wrong with watching porn!
Old enough to be my father (obviously!)
Doesn't respect my parents
Doesn't like the country (;))
Gets the itchy boots (can't stay in the one place for too long)
A party animal (those who always have to hang out in nightclubs)

You know what, I was looking at my list and thought of maybe 2 things that do not really matter.
There was a dealbreakers thread a couple of years and it was an interesting thread back then too, but at the same, it's interesting because some of the deal breakers seemed different because of responses to other people's dealbreakers. ;)

eh I've learned that dealbreakers can actually be somewhat flexible. As long as I can remember smoking was a dealbreaker for me (and as you may or may not have noticed is back on my list), but I did date a smoker for three years. Its not something I ever supported in him and he knew my thoughts about it, but its possible to love someone even if they have what you'd otherwise consider a dealbreaker.

Not to say everything is flexible. There are important things I couldn't compromise on, but sometimes life can surprise you.

Well, this thread is... diverse.

Apeleutheros said:

(yea, I know. I'm not optimistic about it either)

Lol. Is it possible to be too nice?

Short. If you're under 5'7", I'm not interested.

And the two litmus tests: if they have no idea who Rock Hudson is (which, I didn't think possible...) or understand the comment that 'Vladimir Putin really looks like Daniel Craig/Blond Bond'; it's over.

Erm, I might have just had to google who Rock Hudson was.. :sorry: I had heard of his name though..

I am with you on the short thing. I don't know why it bothers me so much but it does.

Being human is a major deal breaker for me. Personally, I'm holding out for when the sex robots hit the market.

Eek :D

I'd say my dealbreakers are:

-non-believer
-a Christian who doesn't respect/consider my beliefs
-smoker(I'm borderline asthmatic)
-heavy drinker/drug user
-refuses to get rid of pets if necessary(I'm allergic to pet hair. I know, I'm rubbish :D)
-bully/vindictive/cruel
-sexually perverted

oh just FYI
I would give up smoking if i was with someone who had a real problem with it

I wouldn't, any more than I would give up drinking or eating my steak rare. I don't think there's anything wrong with smoking or drinking or rare steak, as long as it's done in moderation. If a woman will not tolerate any of those things to any extent whatsoever, then we are simply not made for each other. People have different preferences, and I don't think that people should have to change for one another unless there's something actually wrong going on.

By the way, I am curious if the anti-smoker ladies on here would consider an occasional "fine tobacco" user to be on the same level as a cigarette addict.

i was wondering that too

i know that cigarettes do have a smell to them, if the small is THAT repulsive to someone i would stop it
I smoke maybe 2-4 cigarettes a day, some people say they can smell it

I reckon that makes me one of 'those ladies'! LOL! Ummm, actually, I've never seen tobacco let alone smelled it before! I know that in the western movies they have the cowboys chewing that all the time but yeah, I have no idea! I don't even know the heath benefits/concerns that are attatched to it. Sorry!

I'm one of those folks who seriously can not beathe with the smell of cigarettes in the air! It literally chokes me, so that's part of the reason why I don't like smoking!

Most non smokers can smell it, believe me :D

I can often smell somebody else's cig smoke when they're smoking in their car, on the road, when I'm in my car, with the windows rolled up....And they can be a few cars a head of me or behind me.

People who don't smoke can be quite sensitive to it.

I have a really good sense of smell to the point where my parents will make me find sources of bad odders in the house. So yeah, I can't stand the smell of somke. I also have asthma symptoms and allergies, so being around any form of smoke makes me really sick sometimes. :(

To answer MacFall, no, I don't think I'd consider it. I do see the point you made about "everything in moderation" but even then it still wouldn't feel right to me. My grandma always told me, if it doesn't feel right don't do it. I think there is a verse somewhere in Romans that says it's better not to do something if it feels wrong than to do somthing your unsure of and pay for the consequences it could bring. So I'd have to pray about it first if I were to consider it.
