  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone. I am just wondering if anyone saw the Day After Tomorrow, I heard it bombed in the box office. I just saw it at the "cheap seats" which is a movie theatre that plays older movies for cheaper. Anyway I thought it was really good not to mention Jake Gyllenhall (sp?) and Dennis Quaid were really cute in it! lol anyway I was thinking..what would you do if that started to really happen!!!???:priest:

Err, it didn't bomb, it did really well actually. I liked the movie, but the only thing that bothers me is the "disposability" of the human race. I mean, most of the planet was just wiped out, and the tone is "I told you so". It's environmental message just get's in the way if you ask me. (And I'm very big on Environment.)

i'm a chaos freak. i love movies that do this kind of thing but only if they pull it off good like day after tomorrow. I like movies that has some insanely huge problem wreak havoc in just a short time. Independence Day (done by the same guy I believe), Phone Booth (all in a day!), Training Day (everything happens in a day it's wild). Heck I love things that do that kind of stuff. Even made for tv movies such as 10.5 and Left Behind. Anything with chaos (or lots of major things happening in short time) I'M THERE!! lol

The Day After Tomorrow was a good movie, no doubt. Maybe not the best acting by the boy that played in The Good Girl and Bubble Boy (i can't remember his name) and by other people. but the chaos factor and special effects definitely made up for i believe.

The main idea was correct. All that happening in one week, and jet fuel suddenly freezing... Well, it's a movie.
(I guess a movie that took 1000 years would be too boring :) )

What would I do? I'd go get my closest girl friends and try to survive. After that, do God's mandate and repopulate the world :D *stares off into space as he daydreams*

I was reading a movie mag in a waiting room on Tues

Anyway, this book said - as confirmed, apparently, in UK-TV show, "Global Warning" - that given the right catalyst, all that stuff could happen in @ 3 months, right?

The movie speeded that up to a few days & I really enjoyed it, in a packed cinema

As the crowd began filing slowly out to the closing credits, I called out, "Anyone wanna buy a supercool 2nd hand planet?" ;)

Nobody did

Maybe their assets were...

frozen?? ^_^

For the real end of the world, of course, see Man's Maker's Manual: the Bible

Isaiah 24, Ezekiel 38/39, Daniel 7, Joel 3, Zechariah 14, & Revelation 16/20 to be precise

But be of good cheer: the instant airlift of all who love Jesus will be in good time, before the worst time ever - see Matthew 24, 1 Corinthians 15:51/58, 1 Thessalonians 4:14/5:11, etc

If you have no Bible, see www.BibleGateway.org

The perfect & eternal new heavens & new Earth are instantly spoken into being in Revelation 21

No 6-day waiting period!

No more hunger, pain, diease, death or sorrow!!!!!!!!

Only joy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big question is...

Do you love Jesus?

Will you commit your life to Him now?

"Now[ is the acceptable time, behold: now is the day of salvation"

Today , if you hear God's voice, don't harden your heart"

Ask Jesus to forgive your sin & to come into your heart as Saviour & Lord

See John 3 & Romans 3, etc, for assurance of salvation

God bless!

What are we supposed to do about global warming? If it is caused by humans, blame China, not US. But Mammoths probably weren't building factories in the ice age, were they?
But I wouldn't go see it becuase Al Gore said it was an issue movie. Al Gore talks so I can understand.

...the permanent, perfect new universe, which God will speak into being instantly, per Revelation 21

Of course, that means that Earth is a temporary portacabin, scheduled for demolition, as in Isaiah 24, Joel 3, Zechariah 14, 2 Peter 3 & Revelation 16/20

All the signs that the Bible forecast show that Jesus returns soon, to the instant airlift rescue of all who love Him - Matt 24, 1 Corinthians 15:51/58, 1 Thesalonians 4:14/5:11 etc

See www.BibleGateway.org

Where will you be, The Day After Tomorrow?

Do you love Jesus?

He loves you passionately - as The Passion Of The Christ so vividly reminded us

Return His love

Ask Him to forgive all your sins & to come into your heart as Saviour & Lord of your life

See John 3, Roman 3, etc for assurance of salvation

God bless!

I liked it.

Only..I wished the world actually had ended. I know, that's strange..But all those movies end with the world somehow surviving. I just want it to end. And be like a blank screen. That would tickle me pink.

But it was fine :D
