Proverbs 11:
Wisdom.
AKA: Winning souls.
images

"The fruit of the righteous is a tree of Life; and he that winneth souls is wise. " ~Pr 11:30

Our "Light" given us by God Himself, is what sheds light into darkness, and illuminates that darkness to beckon those in that darkness to come forth out of it.

It's not a "technique" or a "skill", nor is it "numbers" or statistics, nor any feverish attempts to put another "notch" on a belt, etc.

It is merely allowing God's Light to "shine" through us, as His Holy Spirit does the rest. And just as Jesus walked the earth, and "won" souls by his very simplicity, which "drew" so many TO Him, we are to do the same.

We begin with prayer, and God does the rest as we "walk out our faith" in our daily lives, interacting with others wherever we go.

God's Holy Spirit, in us, will take it from there. We just need not be "in His way".

One-person-at-a-time.

Jesus never ever "rushed".

And neither should we.

All we need do, is "shine His Light".

God's very capable and precious Holy Spirit, will bring those weary souls to it. HE is the One "beckoning" them to come in the first place.

Amen?

Proverbs 11:

Death:
Tragic for those without hope.

"When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth." ~Pr 11:7

What good is hoarding riches and being greedy for anyone, especially in the robbing of and tricking of others to take what they have, especially when they who are being taken from, have little.

God comes right out and asks throughout His Word:

Can you take it with you?

Scrooge comes to mind. He did not realize that ev'ry wicked transaction and acquisition he acquired by evil means, was forging another chain and weight on himself.

His riches and his wicked heart was his own curse on himself.

In the end, where will he find himself?

"Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death." ~Pr 11:4

Tragic.

Proverbs 11:

Pride.

"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." ~Pr 9:10

Pride is our (man's) downfall. It will surely devour us and spit us out, in utter disgrace, whether it is in this world, or the next, before the living God. We must heed God's warning on the utter "poison" that pride is. IT strives to "own" us. We can never ever "own" IT. It's the very thing that was Satan's sin, and it's deadly. In all of his pridefull-ness, Satan (aka Lucifer) was going to "remove" the living God from His Throne, and sit there himself, and proclaim HIMSELF as God.

Pride, in essence, makes one foolish, doesn't it?

It is, in essence, the antithesis to "wisdom", for it is "humble-ness", rooted in the "fear of the Lord", that is the very epitome of "wisdom".

Pride = foolishness in all its deadly glory.

Proverbs 11:

Winning Souls.

It is written that those who "win souls" are wise. It ties right in to working in God's "fields of souls", doesn't it?

We are to be cognizant of how very fleeting our contacts with others are, and that many lives can be cut short as they face an eternity after that. Let's pray about, and work in God's "field of souls" while we can. May God strengthen, sustain, and grant us the wisdom needed to be that "light" and may He grant us His "timely words" as we seek to win souls for His glory as we simultaneously pray pray pray along the way.

Proverbs 11:

Becoming Delightfully "Winsome".
AKA: God makes us "Winsome".
AKA: the "wisdom" of the "winsome".

"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." ~Pr 3:5-6

God's own becomes very "winsome", as in "winning" souls.

Winsome = The word winsome comes from the Old English wynn which means pleasure and delight. The word sometimes carries with it a feeling of childlike joy or innocence that is attractive or pleasing to others. There is nothing hiding behind a winsome smile. It wins over others in a fresh and honest way.

AKA: An absence of "guile".

Guile = Deceptive, sly, cunning.

We are to be genuinely open and authentic (winsome) and to be a winner of souls. What is most profound here is the "wisdom" that is a "prerequisite" to being "winsome" in a Godly way.

A "heart for souls", working in the vast "field of souls" for the glory of our precious Father is precious, is it not?

Let's pray that we are a "winner of souls".

Amen?

I want a tree of life, what about you?

Proverbs 11:

Pride.

"When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom." ~Pr 11:2

Pride. It is the very thing that was the sin of Lucifer AKA Satan. Lucifer, who was re-named Satan, as he became THE adversary to the living God. It is hand-in-hand with "self-will", which is rebellion against God. It is HIS will we are to embrace, and rejecting our own self-will, and bowing our knee to the living God, indicating a "fear of the Lord".

There is no pleasing God without doing the above.

Proverbs 11:

Deceit.

When someone labels theirself a "Christian", yet their words and actions are deceitful and lies are added to that deceit, and blatantly so, and the lies and deceit persist, with words of malice, their true heart is exposed, for all to see. The evil in their heart speaks much louder than anything else. THIS is what God sees. He cannot be deceived. He SEES the heart, and ALL that is brewing, whether it be of HIM or not.

Those who practice such deceit and lie with such malice in their heart need to "come clean" to God and confess and forsake these abominations before the living God, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Woe to those who don't.

Proverbs 11:

Generosity.
iu

"God loveth a cheerful giver." ~II Cor 9:70

What delights God's very heart?

A generous and cheerful "giver" does. For we are not only blessing the one we are giving to, but also blessing and delighting God's very own heart. WHAT is more IMPORTANT than THAT???
