In the cookie-cutter world of pop music, he certainly could be original. I remember the song "Fame" on the radio in the '70's. Then it sounded like a weird pop/funk song had stepped out of a time capsule from the future. I remember thinking " wow that sounds futuristic". I heard it a few months ago and I'll be darned if it doesn't still sound futuristic.

I am sad for him and his family that he died too young. I liked a lot of his stuff but I think he is quite a bit overrated. But it's sad for a person to die and sad for his loved ones, may God bring them comfort at this time.
