For the most part, I agree with that.

But this morning, I'm trying to determine what kind of a lesson a 3 month period of sleep deprivation is. I think I slept for all of an hour last night- a new personal worst. If God is trying to teach me some kind of a lesson through this, then I've long since forgotten what it is.

If I were to start having nightmares every night, I'd consider it a blessing.

Are you super sleepy and just can't sleep or are you wired? That's gotta be dangerous to drive around on such little sleep!

I've been to the doctor several times and CAT scans haven't uncovered any problems. I've had a few EECGs that just show that my brain is abnormally active even in sleep. She can't think of any reason that I should be having this kind of problem, especially for 3 solid months.

I can count on one hand the number of nights since April that I've slept for at least 6 hours. Some nights I'm incredibly wired and I can't do anything to break it. Other nights, I'm so physically and mentally exhausted that I could cry, but sleep eludes me anyway.

Against her better judgement and after vehement opposition from me, my doctor prescribed something called Sonata for me. I've been on it for about a week and it's not helping. I just lose movement in my body for 6 hours even though I can hear and feel everything around me, or I'll have strange dreams but it's like I'm watching them on TV or something, because I'll lay there and make fun of how stupid they are.

And it's causing mild memory loss. One of my friends called me on my way to church to let me know that he couldn't do brunch because he had other plans. When I talked to him later that night, I didn't remember ever having the conversation and I thought he was messing with me until I checked my call log and I did indeed answer a call from him at 8:30am.

I've tried praying. I think I'm just curing God's insomnia with my hours of rambling. So if I can't sleep, I just don't bother laying there. I'll get up and do some work or study or read or watch TV. I get some of my best work done between 2 and 5 am.

I have another Dr. appointment on Friday so we'll see if my doctor has had any useful epiphanies.

still in awe of how you can function??!?! Praise God for your story because I will remember this next time I'm tempted to complain about being tired!

I function because I really know no other way. To be honest, I'm a little in awe myself. I'm definitely running on fumes, but I just went to the gym and ran 4 miles and I'm going to do some abs and arms as soon as I've stretched out my quads and calves. Hopefully I'll crash sometime before midnight, but if I don't I've got a ton of studying to do between now and September 18th!

And if you ever start seeing a noticeable change in your sleep patterns that cause you to feel unrested that last longer than a week, get it checked out by your doctor immediately so that they can diagnose the cause early and correct it. Don't do what I did and wait for 2 months so that they can't even pinpoint the problem, let alone fix it.

I am not waif either just old fashioned and only want to date christian guys but were i live its hard to find a decent go. sometime i feel like going up to them and saying hi but feel stupid especially if they are a christian you never no.

I know it's tough.. I've only recently started to go talk to guys first but I have yet to meet a christian guy who was not nice. Don't worry! Just walk up with a smile and suppress the fear.. act like it's no big deal even if you think he's really cute. Really though, guys do it. I think there's a statistic that says for every 1 girl that agrees to go out there's like 10 that have rejected the idea. That's rough... all you're doing is saying "hi!" and introducing yourself. You can always ask them what ministries they're involved in, what they do for a living/what they're studying, where they're from... blah blah.

Walking up and smiling and acting like it's not big deal is the best way. If you talk to someone thinking that they are just another of God's awesome children, then anyone is easy to talk to!

I went on about 8 blind dates June and only one of them could have been considered crazy... A few were a little unbalanced, but that makes for interesting conversation if nothing else!
