Congrats DATEFULL peeps - Living, Out of Flames and B! Sounds like you have had some great dates lately.

Hey jenptcfan are you up for girl's night this weekend? :D Anybody else still dateless?

I'm excited actually.. my parents are coming to visit from the East coast this weekend! I can't wait to see them!

Out of Flames - have you been able to sleep lately?

edit: Ok Flames - changed "dateless" to "datefull" for you guys! ;) That's what we should call this thread - DATEFULL WAIF CLUB :)

Dateless? No way! This is the summer of LOOOOOOOVE!

And without my doctor's help, I was able to determine what the problem is (I'm almost 100% sure anyway). And it's the dumbest thing- I never would have pinpointed it to be a cause for total lack of sleep- Hypokalemia (I'm potassium deficient.)

I'm allergic to high doses of potassium (as in severe acute respiratory failure), so foods like bananas, yogurt, asparagus, certain squash, and any other high dose potassium food not containing folic acid are completely off limits. (If you want to off me, a simple slice of banana bread would do it if I couldn't get to epinephrine in time.)

But I've been working out every day lately and my muscles are really cramping because I can't get enough potassium. So as I was reading up on potassium intake the other night, I ran across two very interesting pieces of information.

1. It assists in the regulation of the acid-base balance and water balance in the blood and the body tissues as well as protein synthesis from amino acids and in carbohydrate metabolism. It is necessary for the building of muscle and for normal body growth. It is needed for the proper functioning of nerve cells, in the brain and throughout the body.

2. The most common side effects of Hypokalemia are muscle cramps, fatigue, and sleeplessness.

Well smack my butt and call me astounded... So I started taking a potassium gluconate tablet before bed the night before last. And I've started sleeping about 5 hours a night. So when I go in to the doctor on Friday, it will be to determine how much potassium I can safely ingest in order to supplement both my exercise and sleep routines.

And all this time, I thought I was just mental...;)

Hey, Hey!!! Awesome place to make my first post :) Dateless wonder signing up for duty, SIR!!!

I just turned 22, and will probably be this way for a good while longer too. Entering into a Master's Commission in Winnipeg, MB (which you cant' date for the duration of), so that takes me to a month before I'm 23 and I'll still be a dateless wonder, baby! I just thank God he's given me the peace to handle being lonely a lot better than I did when I was 17, 18. Always feels good to know I'm not alone in being alone under the sun :)

Heya waifs,

Got room for another? I don't know how waifish I am, but I'm definitely dateless (not that I particularly mind at the moment-- the old heart has to stitch itself back together a bit!) I suppose I'll probably be "dateful" soon enough though...

Ok...here's a laugh at my expense. A friend of mine who's a nice guy asked me to hang out with him....here's the catch...he lives 2000+ mile up the street and around the corner. :(

Why is that the nice people live so far away? :D
I hear you. I am in Maine and my best guy friend is in Ohio.
Luckily it was his dime when he called the other night. :D

Well you're going to keep being dateless and cuddly with the computer if you guys don't go out and find some quality people to bond with!

I mean, I know Jen and I are just irresistable, but even I get out several times a week! (But don't tell Jen- she's already heartbroken that I'm dating someone...);)

I would go out a bit more often if people weren't so bent on having hidden agendas. It's like people don't know how to share common interest without trying to find sex in the process. I've taken the time to go out with some people that seemed ok, but then discovered that the agendas were pretty much the same. It's like people are using their bodies to seek people out instead of just working to make a true friendship. :sigh: ok...I'm sorry...I'll stop venting now. :(

 Hey how is everyone..............Im a dude form Perth Australia and i have just stumbled across this. I am a christian..............what is the general vibe of this place?
Welcome to CF! :)

The vibe around this particular thread is pretty laid back. We're pretty upbeat in here for the most part. Lots of jokes at each other's expense, but all in good fun. ;)

Elsewhere in the singles forum is a mixture of whatever the current mood is. Hang around for a little while and see for yourself, but for the most part, I think we're a pretty upbeat and inspirational bunch.^_^
