For a while you'd probably would consider me legitimately seeking that god actually. I was once a member of a Baptist church. In fact, that was the first church I became a member of; that being the denomination of the first important figure in my life to die.

I'm sorry I thought I remembered you saying that you were from a non-religious family and didn't attend any church ever.

None of my business, but where did you first pick up the name YAHWEH?

Was it in that Baptist church?

(Wouldn't surprise me.)

I've got a friend who despises being fat.

He won't exercise, but he despises being fat.

He wants me to feel sorry for him, and I'm not going to.

I actively seek faith. Wouldn't you feel bad for your friend if his weight was thanks to a medication he had to take in order to live, and despite constant exercise he could never shed the pounds?

It isn't as if I am not trying

Oh gosh, I picked it up earlier than that. Whether it was from a bible or some other source though I am unsure.

And yes, feel free to be judgmental about the fact that I began seriously trying to seek religion after someone in my life died and not earlier.

My family on my MOM's side isn't religious. My DAD's side is a different story. However, even his side for the most part wasn't strongly religious, and seeking religion was pretty much an independent venture for me.

No further questions. :)

As I said, it's none of my business anyway.

I am basing my assertion on the fact that there is an established finding of fine tuning of the universe which Davian seems not to have grasped.

No, there is an established finding that the constants we observe are very constant. Do try to keep your claims straight. The "tuning of the universe" is still unsubstantiated, and unfalsifiable (by your own concession).

Meh, I am an open book, feel free to be nosy if you want. In any case, I have no desire to hide anything about my experience seeking religion, perhaps I should write it all out in a blog so I don't have to retype it out every time there is an inquery

Once, maybe you missed this post. Would appreciate you giving me a direct response to these questions, thanks.

Couple quick and simple questions once, that will help clear things up for me at least:

-Is it your belief, that the universe was designed by a God?
-If yes to above, do you believe this on faith?

No, that is not fine tuning that constants are constant. Once again it is apparent that you don't understand the concept.

That is false. The fine tuning is agreed upon by most those in the field and is substantiated by the data. I didn't say it wasn't.

I did miss it sorry.

Yes and yes. I believe that the evidence supports my belief.

 belief based ideas are literally ones without scientific evidence to back them.

Do you see the main issue here. She can not avoid stating the evidence backs her belief, even when she says she believes on faith and has acknowledged, she has no objective evidence the universe is designed and isn't claiming it is.

Does anyone else see the massive contradiction here?

Have you?

You tend to link to things that you have never read, will never read, and would not understand even if you read them.

I am not a mathematician. I use only those that specialize in it to make my arguments.

Really?

"If there is an ultimate meaning to existence, as I believe is the case, the answer is to be found within nature, not beyond it. The universe might indeed be a fix, but if so, it has fixed itself."--Paul Davies

Perhaps you should do some research yourself if you don't see the faulty logic that you are using when you use 1 in 1 odds.

I have done more research in the past few days than you will do in your entire life.

It is evidence and it supports design and I've always said that.

Here you are making the claim that you supposedly never make.
