Creationists have blamed evolution theory on the propagation of racism.
The Indo-Aryan languages must therefore be a branch of a master language superior to all other languages.

That was tested in the mid 20th century and assumed false, since the experiment was interrupted by a Christian nation.

....with the help of 550,000 Jewish Americans who fought (thankfully they pitched in to help the "Christian Nation")

Also it's kind of weird to think of Germany as anything but a Christian nation at that time anyway. I mean Hitler made a LOT of use of his association with Christianity to get people on board with him. And Germany grew out of the remains of the Holy Roman Empire and was later the home of the ORIGINAL Protestant (Martin Luther)...and Martin Luther had some serious problems with Jews.

So "Christianity" was not a perfect bulwark against racism. It should be but it isn't.

I always love a post that exactly captures my thinking, yet expresses it with greater eloquence. For one thing it saves me from the effort of trying to post those thoughts myself. Cheers.
(It was so good, I just read it again, something I rarely do. )

The Discovery Institute, the society of closet creationists, have made it a mantra of associating evolution with racism under the banner scientific racism.

Here is an example of their work.

We know that the Bible was used to justify slavery in the US, that Christian nations in Medieval Europe conducted some of the most horrific pogroms, and that the Crusades were conducted in the very name of God and the Church.

So it seems that everything can be misused to unpleasant ends, even when they aren't originally made to do so.

I've always wondered where this stuff came from.
Thanks for the info.

I might add that in Medieval Europe the Bible was used to justify the treatment of women that is not much different than how the Taliban treat women today. And that type of thinking continued way pass the Medieval times actually. There's no way I believe that's the Bibles intent. But because Eve got a bad review, that's what happened.

Men seem to like having an excuse for mistreating
women, little connection as there may to their real
reasons.

Speaking here partly from personal experience.

From wiki:

"By 1939... the overwhelming majority of 94.5% remained Protestant or Catholic..."

That's quite high. Definitely a Christian nation. No doubt about that. Oh, and that was Germany by the way.

Whether it is or isn't ... and it should be, in my opinion ... but whether it is or isn't, I'll state my point again:

Hitler's experiment was interrupted by a Christian nation.

Russia was a christian nation?

Seems like history is something you also is ignorant about.

For the record, I don't have anything to do with the Discovery Institute, ICR or any other institution, with the exception of some missionary clearinghouses.

As I'm fond of asking people:

In your opinion, were these crusades, witch hunts, and other atrocities done with respect to the Bible, or in spite of It?

I vote in spite of It.

They may think they were doing the right thing, but they weren't.

Neat.

Which one had God on its side, in your opinion?
