  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It seems NASA has found more matter, in fact a horde of matter in space. I did not see this posted here. If it was just delete.

This is awesome stuff. You just want to hop in a space ship and check it out :D

So why is this gas still so utterly hot, and why does it not radiate anything we can detect?
Any astronomers out there?

That is extremely strange, and I'm surprised I haven't heard of this before now. But I don't think it's the dark matter we're looking for, because dark matter is supposed to reside within galaxies, it is what holds them together.

Note this part of the article:
The hot gas detected by Chandra can be used to trace the presence of the more massive dark matter component. The discovery of the hot gas may eventually enable astronomers to map of the distribution of dark matter in the universe and perhaps understand its origin.
It's also interesting that the existence of this gas has been predicted yet they haven't found it until now.
