At least Christians aren't called baby eaters or whatever is the current popular thing. Us pagans are scary! Ooooooooooooo :o

I think people are more scared of Islam than Paganism these days. I see way more muslim hate posts than pagan hate posts.

Of course! I'm just pointing out that your rendition has NOTHING to do with anything Jesus has ever been taken to mean by His followers.

And there you are very wrong. The concept you are espousing contradicts a great many events in the life of Christ, both before I came along and after.

I would not attempt to define satan. The concept you are describing does indeed exist, and most people (if not all) will have it as an adversary to contend with far more frequently than they would ever contend with any power of darkness, be that satan himself or otherwise.

The Bible has many names for what you are discussing, and there truthfully is some potential for overlap between what you are describing and the spiritual realm. Many sayings point to this phenomena, not the least of which is "the idle mind is the playground of the devil." Nonetheless there is a difference between what you are portraying and satan himself, who would prefer to go undetected, and to have people deny he even exists.

As I said before, you have 'called me' on nothing.

When the Satanic Panic in the 80s turned out to be a bust, Christians needed to find a new scapegoat.

I figured but I wanted to see how deep of a hole she would dig.

You see, Ave, the regulars here have already seen many times, the proselytizer's claim that they were formerly a Pagan of some sort but then either refuse to answer any questions about it or if they do, they can't even get Paganism 101 right. Another lesson for all Christians following along: the only seed you're planting when caught in a lie or exaggeration like that is one of distrust.

Wasn't there some sort of command or law in the Bible about providing false testimony...what was it called again?

I haven't posited any such thing, but I certainly have explained fully enough, by my reading. Your response here puzzles me.

You stated that I was blatantly wrong to another poster and yet you offer no explanation as to Why. I asked you directly the meaning of the word Satan/demonic/ the devil etc and its applied meaning and you said that you would not. You have assumed the position of me being 'wrong' but offer no definition of the 'right' other than dancing around the houses.

I think this is going down the road of extremism. Here in my own country the law states anyone can believe in what they want, so long as they don't harm others.

Do these different or alternative religions mean anything if we were all on the Moon in Astronaut suits at Tranquility base or Touris Litro... with 1/6th of the Earth's gravity. I honestly cannot believe how these faiths can mean anything beyond the planet we live on:confused:

Overview effect - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Overview Effect is a cognitive shift in awareness reported by some astronauts and cosmonauts during spaceflight, often while viewing the Earth from orbit or from the lunar surface.[1][2][3] Third-hand observers of these individuals may also report a noticeable difference in attitude.[3] Astronauts Rusty Schweikart,[3] Edgar Mitchell,[3] Tom Jones[4] and Mike Massimino are all reported to have experienced the effect.

Edgar Mitchell founded this really new-agey organization after experiencing the overview effect.

There are many dangers involved when a person practices the Occult, New Age, or Pagan religions. These religions are not true religions and those who practice them do not worship the true God. Instead, they worship Satan although they may not realize that is what they are doing. All Occult, New Age, and Pagan religions are to be outright condemned! Practicing these religions can lead to demonic possession, obsession, and other problems with the demonic realm.

But you don't have to be a member of one of these religions to put yourself in danger. People have encountered demonic problems simply by playing with a Ouija board which they thought was harmless. Some people think Seances are harmless as well but they most definitely are not.

If you are involved in any of these things or have been in the past, I would urge you to repent of your sins. If you are Catholic, go to Confession. If you're non-Catholic, become Catholic. If you have experienced demonic issues or other paranormal issues, contact a good orthodox Catholic priest. They can help you.

I want everyone to know that God is merciful. If you have practiced these things in the past or do so now and want to repent, God will forgive you if you sincerely repent for having offended Him. He loves you more than anything and does not want you to dabble in these demonic religions any longer. Please, come home to Christ and His Church.

Yes, I have read the various Chick Tracts, especially the ones about Catholicism. They are wrong however.

That said, there can only be one true religion and that religion is the Catholic Church. I know this because I have examined the evidence both for and against the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church has clear evidence that it is both Biblically sound and it is sound as regards history. If you read the early Church Fathers you will find that the Catholic Church believes everything that the early Church did.

I know that Christianity is true because of various different reasons. One of them is this: The apostles would not have been willing to be martyred had they not seen Jesus Christ live the life He did which was full of miracles and then His death and resurrection. That tells me that Christianity is definitely true.

It is the Catholic Church that is the original Church and it has the fullness of the Truth. Just because someone claims that their own personal sect is true does not mean it really is. I spent several years examining many of the different Christian sects and such and none of them compared to the soundness of the Catholic Church.

Plus, besides the fact that the Catholic Church is Biblically and historically sound there are the thousands of miracles that have occurred throughout the history of the Catholic Church. Countless people have been cured of their diseases and conditions through the intercession of various saints for example. Take a look at Lourdes for a look at a Marian apparition which started the Lourdes Grotto which has resulted in numerous miraculous healings. And miraculous healings aren't the only truly astounding things in the Church. There are also quite a few Eucharistic miracles and various other unexplainable events. I honestly haven't seen so many unexplainable things in other religions that would stand up under scrutiny like the many miracles the Catholic Church has.

I'm going to trust my first person experiences over those anecdotal stories and 2000+ year old book written on the other side of the world. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't enjoy your religion, too.

I think this ranks up as one of the worst proofs ever. First, it requires me to accept that they all died, which isn't even in the New Testament. Second, it requires me to accept that had they simply recanted, they would have been spared. A lot of the stories I have seen, of which there are many and some contradict others, many of them upset the wrong Roman guy by converting the guy's wife and he was killed for that. So, he was killed for converting the wrong person, not for being a Christian.

I don't honestly believe many of them were killed.

A Jew not believe in the murder of the apostles ... *gasp* ....
