  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Daniel 6:4-5 King James Version (KJV)
4 Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

Daniel 6:4-5 New English Translation (NET Bible)

4 Consequently the supervisors and satraps were trying to find some pretext against Daniel in connection with administrative matters. But they were unable to find any such damaging evidence, because he was trustworthy and guilty of no negligence or corruption. 5 So these men concluded, “We won’t find any pretext against this man Daniel unless it is in connection with the law of his God.”

These are my thoughts, please share yours.

4 The people did the exact same thing with Jesus with no results as well, let us live in a way where the world can’t find fault against us. They may have been jealous they may have wanted more power themselves but they would rather bring Daniel down rather then build themselves up how often times do we act in that way but we try to see them as an example to live better for the Lord instead.

5 So they decided to attack his relationship with the Lord because they knew he would put the Lord first, we may be faced with this and we will be attacked because of our faith in Him. We should put God first and then He will see us thru the attack we face.

The world attacks anything they perceive as keeping them from what they want. Some describe mankind as dogs or swine, in this case they do act as a pack of dogs. Nothing new under the sun. You don’t have to be a follower of Christ to experience that.

But what would seem unexpected, is that one’s relationship in Jesus Christ is preventing or keeping a person or group of persons or a political agenda from its goals. Which was the case with the Pharisees, if you can see that, then you can see it coming.
